While you may wish for it, the US is not a dictatorship. The states ARE supposed to lead. Yes, I do agree Trump could have done a better creating a unifying message, however its abundantly clear that certain areas would go him no matter what he said or did. the blame Trump for everything narrative is partisan stupidity by the left.
More and more states and communities are taking it upon themselves to contain COVID while Trump refuses to lead.
Exactly what they should be doing. State and city leaders are responsible for the well being of their own citizens. Covid does not have a ‘one size fits all’ solution. Different parts of the nation have different demographics and are experiencing different challenges. A National mandate for everyone to go into hibernation likely wouldn’t please you either.
Yes we are definitely on our own. Trump compared to this Pandemic and his Presidency as a war time... a virus invading our shores. In many ways, I agree.... As such, we should be fighting this as a single united nation just like a war rather than leaving each state to enter war on its own.
Ah, the lies these Dems will tell. Here what actually happened:
Jan 17. DHS (Trump Administration) announced that personnel coming in from China would be routed to certain airports and screened. CDC said it expected the danger to be low.
Jan 21. The first case of Coronavirus was detected in the US.
Jan 24. CDC detects the second case.
Jan 28. WHO praises China for their “Speed and openness” in dealing with the virus.
Jan 30. CDC confirmed that person-to-person spread of coronavirus was possible.
Jan 31. Trump declares that coronavirus was a public health emergency and insisted on a ban on China-American flights.
Feb 4. Trump orders FDA to step up testing procedures.
Feb 18. CDC confirms that “risk to Americans in low”.
Feb 26. First case of local transmission was suspected.
Feb 29. First death in US from coronavirus.
Mar 11. WHO declares pandemic. Trump imposes travel restrictions. Biden objects.
Mar 13. Trump declares national emergency. 1300 cases in America. 38 deaths.
They cry "wack of weadership" right after they accuse Trump of being a dictator, and that came on the heels of their claim that he "did nothing".
The Wall is being built; we are pulling out of Afghanistan; conservative justices are being confirmed; Democrats are lying.
All is well.
More and more states and communities are taking it upon themselves to contain COVID while Trump refuses to lead.
Good, it’s not Trumps job. Remember all the states complaining that he wasn’t their king and that they would handle their own states? Well, they got what they wished for.
The White House IS NOT a participation trophy where the president just sits back and does nothing.
And the current national catastrophe proves it.
Trump spent 3 years running a victory lap around the country. Its like the high school quarterback who keeps reliving the time he took his team to victory. Al Bundy comes to mind.
Here in Arizona tests are backed up weeks. One of the private labs has a backlog of 63,000 tests to be done. People wait 8 hours in the heat to get a test. This has been going on since the surge in cases in May. The state can only do so much. Where is the leadership in Washington to move mountains to get testing up to speed. Back in April Trump did a news conference with execs from Walmart, Target, Walgreens etc and testing was going to be all over and fast. What happened? I have been to walmarts all over. Never seen testing outside. Why can't the tests be overnight-ed to different states that have the capacity to run them quickly?
Its not just Trump. What about the congress people from Arizona. Where are they on this? Why did congress leave for the summer during a pandemic?
