How does this relate to homeschooling? I must have missed it.

Yeah, Houston's TMC (which happens to be the largest medical center in the world) has been at 100% regular ICU capacity for a while now. They are now in an expansion phase. About 1/2 of the total ICU patients are Covid which is pretty crazy.

Wants to? Nah. We're bootstrapping. Just like the Right has always told people to do.

Yeah, that's what I noticed.

Being home being instructed by the school teacher on an electronic device is not the same as being homeschooled.

i mean send the kids home, but keep the power of being "THE SCHOOL"

then why do we need home schooling that isn't government provided?

more power for them.
This makes a lot of sense. Some people want to control everyone.

Liberals are anti-homeschool They are anti homeschool that is trying to avoid science.

I've lived in the USA And Canada and homeschoolers come in many shapes, sizes and political ideology.

Conservative homeschoolers teach at home because they don't like the theory of evolution nonsense and need to interject God into all schooling.

Liberal homeschoolers teach at home because they are free spirits and don't want to be tied down to a school calendar. Free spirits that don't want to follow the rules.

LOL.....

I'm kidding in my descriptions but not in my experience with homeschooling parents. They come in all shapes and sizes.

And liberals are not blanket fighting for homeschooling, they are trying to make sure that school districts have safe policies and procedures and all the resources to keep the kids, the staff and the community safe.

It is irresponsible for leaders to dictate in class school rooms but then provide no guidance, support, resources to assist school boards across the country that have to drastically adjust to the new normal.

It is irresponsible to not recognize that in some communities --- kids may be carriers of the virus and bring home to families where parents, other siblings, grandparents may be immune compromised.

It is irresponsible to ignore that so many teachers have issues that make that susceptible to the virus.

You all make up stories in your head that do not have anything to do with what those are saying about the risks of in class schooling right now.

Oh get out --- schools aren't political but most private schools are very religious -- and with that comes politics.

Nobody is asking for a change in school board curriculums.

For those of you that don't know -- there is a syllabus and that is not the concern right now. The syllabus dictates the content not where the child is taught ---

The stuff you guys make up to spin stories must take so much of your energy.....explains why you can't be bothered to really listen to what is being brought up.

As I said before, helpful (not). Not even statistically accurate according to home school sponsored studies.

Roughly one-third of parents (34%) surveyed in the 2016 NHES selected concern about the environment of other schools as their most important reason for homeschooling. This was in response to the question “You are concerned about the school environment, such as safety, drugs, or negative peer pressure?” This would include concerns about bullying. After concerns about the environment of other schools, the next highest reasons parents selected as their most important reason for homeschooling were dissatisfaction with academic instruction (17%) and a desire to provide religious instruction (16%).
