"...On March 25, New York governor Andrew Cuomo made one of deadliest mistakes of the coronavirus crisis, signing an executive order forcing nursing homes in his state to accept patients who tested positive for coronavirus. Around 4,800 New Yorkers died from COVID-19 in those nursing homes from March to May — approximately 25 percent of all fatalities in the state.

Many medical professionals opposed the policy. A report by ProPublica, certainly no right-wing outlet, found that deaths had spiked after Cuomo’s order. States issuing similar policies — Michigan and New Jersey — saw similar disasters unfold.

By any standard, the New York tristate area’s numbers are the worst in the country. By most measures, the numbers are some of the worst in the world. As the New York Times noted in May, New York City seeded the wave of outbreaks across the nation. Some of the carnage was likely unavoidable, but we can attribute the high number of nursing-home deaths, at the very least, to Cuomo’s ineptitude.

Yet, even as his state was failing to meet its most serious challenge since 9/11 — it wasn’t until May 6 that cleaners began disinfecting the subway system, for example — Cuomo was busy taking softball questions on national cable news from his obsequious brother, Chris. On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon marveled at how “smart” and “honest” Cuomo was as the two discussed the governor’s global popularity and “Cuomosexual fans....”"

Belgium is the country (per RealClearPolitics excluding mini-states) with the worst death toll in the world, 856 per million. New York state is nearly double that, 1,668 per million. New Jersey is even worse at 1,760. Connecticut is 1,220, 3rd in the country. The country as a whole is 422 per million.

With the media worship you see New Yorkers coming on boards and crowing because they aren't killing as many as they used to. The real numbers say Cuomo was the worst leader in the world and New Yorkers should not be making themselves look like mindless automons crowing.

Cuomo and De Blasio both. The Die-namic duo. Number one in death toll and rates.

In the words of CNN...butbutbut..>Florida.

Liberal MSM networks have tried to deflect from the utter disaster in the NY/NJ areas by
pointing out the rising cases in FL and TX, even those their case counts and deaths are a tiny fraction of the rates of NY/NJ. Cuomo's incompetence likely killed 10,000 or more people between the two states (most NJ cases are clustered near the NYC area).

I still have a copy of De Blasio telling New Yorkers to carry on with their lives, go out to the theaters and have a good time. This was after the infection rate in NY was growing fast.

Like many others he just didn't understand the danger the country was facing. Same thing with Nancy Pelosi, she said precautions against the virus had already been taken and there was really nothing to worry about. So "C'mon down to Chinatown!"

It's funny how both of them, along with other DNC representatives later tried to claim the president was the only person who didn't understand the threat. But their own prior statements were already recorded by the media.

None of that matters. It's all Trumps fault.

Again with this, HHS issued federal guidance on Mar 13 regarding nursing homes, several states followed this guidance and disaster ensued.

"Note: Nursing homes should admit any individuals that they would normally admit to their
facility, including individuals from hospitals where a case of COVID-19 was/is present.
Also, if possible, dedicate a unit/wing exclusively for any residents coming or returning
from the hospital. This can serve as a step-down unit where they remain for 14 days with
no symptoms (instead of integrating as usual on short-term rehab floor, or returning to
long-stay original room)."

Well in both of those examples you are talking about politicians encouraging commerce for the local economy at the time where there was no safety precautions instituted at a federal or local level, their comments didnt encourage the violation of any official guidance from any health official. trump was refusing to wear a mask as long as 3 days ago, he was tweeting to "liberate the states" for following medical guidance.

Any informed and honest person would admit that Cuomo and Trump have both made serious blunders that had allowed the deadly virus to kill.

For some reason the media seems to think it is just one of them.
