Portland Police
@PortlandPolice
After vandalizing a police vehicle at North Precinct this large group made a 2 mile walk to N. Lombard near N. Campbell. The street is blocked. Avoid this area. https://twitter.com/PortlandPolice/s...22632965808129
Let them go, they are just expressing their Constitutional right to protest. It's all good. To not let them do this would be basically shredding our Constitution and turning us into a Central American dictatorship....at least that is what I've been told.
The local Democrat leaders do not want to confront the mob. The 59 rioters that they arrested will not face any charges, even the ones committing felonies like arson.
The Portland voters vote for this sort of politics.
The police shouldn't risk their wellbeing by arresting a single rioter.
By giving the rioters space to destroy it will either:
(A) make the rioters get bored and go home
or
(B) make the Portland voters wake up and vote better.
I have been advocating for this. Unfortunately, a lot of people only see one step ahead and miss the bigger picture. Let the thugs commit the crimes, since this is what the lawless democrat leaders want. Let the entire nation see the looting, arson, beatings, murders, and mayhem -- as was the case in Seattle. Let the images of evils seared in people's memory. Maybe then they will realize they can't keep voting for people who encourage and sponsor lawlessness.
Federal officers of an unknown agency are abducting people off the streets, nowhere near federal property, and tossing them in unmarked rental vans. Unasked does by the local government. Whether you want protesters handled or not, disturbing acts on an constitutional basis.

“ OPB sent DHS an extensive list of questions about Pettibone’s arrest including: What is the legal justification for making arrests away from federal property? What is the legal justification for searching people who are not participating in criminal activity? Why are federal officers using civilian vehicles and taking people away in them? Are the arrests federal officers make legal under the constitution? If so, how?”
Right...it was not the US Marshalls. So who was it? They bear no identification nor give it when asked. Just some random guys in camo snatch you off the street and throw you in a private vehicle. For all you know they are criminals kidnapping you.
Again whether you want it cleared or not, how is this constitutional?
Well apparently you are the legal expert in this matter. Why don't you tell us how it isn't constitutional.
Some posters are confused (or are pretending to be) about where and when Federal Law Enforcement can make arrests.
The Federal Court House in downtown Portland has been besieged violently and repeatedly and Federal employees assaulted.
And not for the first time. In 2018 the Portland Federal Immigration and Customs building was under attack and just as now the Portland mayor supported the "protest" and ordered the Portland PD to stand down.
The siege was ended by Federal Law Enforcement who would not have had to get involved if the Mayor enforced the law.
Federal Agents have jurisdiction in all 50 states and make arrests daily.
They have been on the streets of downtown Portland, OR 24/7 365 days a year for the past 150+ years.
It is only an issue now because their role in a scripted anti-Trump strategy in the DNC playbook.
This demonstrates the willingness to sacrifice public safety for the greater good of The Party.
Thanks Democrats.
