No. It's satire.

That means he doesn't mean what he's saying. Satire means he's saying something, with a straight face, so the audience can realize how ridiculous it is.

Read the short story, "A Modest Proposal" - my guess is, you can find it on the internet - for a middle school lesson in what satire is.

Satire is not appropriate when thousands are dying!

What is the humor in that?

Rex Huppke isn't making fun of people who died from coronavirus. He's using satire out the absurdity of what Rush Limbaugh said.

You're the ones that can't forget about "hillary". You're the ones who keep bringing her up, especially when you have to defend something silly that Trump or someone like Rush Limbaugh said.

If you actually spent some time listening to Rush Limbaugh, you'd understand that it is satire. He is actually quite perceptive and has a sense of humor. A sense of humor is something many on the left are missing.

The first time I stumbled on his show I was flipping around the AM dial on my way to meeting at the district office of the college district I worked for. I hated these meetings because faculty would wax eloquently about their favorite project and complain about Reagan. Conservative politicians were fair game but anyone on the left was sacrosanct and above criticism. Being a relative newcomer and not wanting to PO the wrong person, I just listened quietly. On the drive in that day I listened for an entire hour of Limbaugh and kept asking myself "who is this guy? He thinks just like I do."

I shared an office with 33 year old kid a few years ago before I retired. He was from Massachusetts and considered himself "a pretty liberal guy" in his words. I found him to be fairly irrational and ill informed. One day he started going off about Rush Limbaugh and all the lies he told and what an idiot he was. I asked him if he'd ever actually listened to Limbaugh for any length of time and he said his high school friend's mom had him on the radio when he went to his friend's house. I again asked if he'd every actually sat down and listened to an entire 3 hour show. He had not. I asked him if there was some specific thing Limbaugh said that he felt was wrong and he had nothing to say.

My former co-worker is typical of many who hate Limbaugh. It has much more to do with virtue signaling to his social circle than it does with taking issue with any particular thing Limbaugh opines on. If he had actually taken the time to listen to what Limbaugh says, he might be surprised. But hating Limbaugh is just part of him being "a pretty liberal guy". It's one of those boxes you check off on the list of qualifications to be awarded "Hip" status, or now "woke".

You mean Limbaugh is still alive? Dammit! (Relax, Trumpies, that's satire.)
