How about we just stop calling people names-period? Is that too much to ask? I mean you people sound like you’re 8 years old.

There is no rule that a "Karen" has to be white, at least not for those of us who were using the term before it became a media blurb. The term has been around in retail and service industries for years, and simply means the woman referred to is a self-entitled twit. At one point the name was "Rachel" because if a woman walked in with a haircut like Rachel from Friends there was a good chance she would be asking to see the manager.

Is it sexist? It could possibly be seen that way, but only because the name "Karen" is typically associated with women. In my area, men with the same attitude are referred to as "Brad".

As usual, the media has grabbed hold of a common saying and spun it to have a different meaning from what people actually use it for.

How about people stop being such irritating soulsuckers that retail and service workers feel the need to invent a code word for them?

I think putting up a BLM sign in your yard is silly. What are you trying to prove? It is like people that do are virtue signaling, like Hey look at me I'm so woke and down with the homies...

Well their does seem to be a loophole in the wording of the bylaw that residents CAN put up political signs 2 weeks before an election and BLM is becoming a far Left political group that is really influencing the Democrats. Heck a vote for Biden is a vote for Reparations so BLM has a horse in the race.

Or a real estate sign, or a "co-exist" sign, or a NASCAR sign, or.....

If the CC&Rs say no signs in your yard that means no signs in your yard.

We are past that point. People were called snowflakes for 2 years and anyone who supports BLM is a Marxist.

and of course we know thugs is a common name used on here for any discussion on crime in urban areas.

Yet calling women Karen is just too much?

Doesn’t matter. This place constantly calls people on the left out of their names for giggles but once its thrown back in their direction they can’t handle it.

They’ve called people on the left every name on the book.. most of them are hilariously bad but still, they are known for this and once they get a taste of their own medicine they want it all to stop.

They can dish it but the can’t take it. Typical bully tactic.

Too bad. Some of the retail clerks act as if they are doing us a favor. I was trying to buy something I selected, and was standing in front of the cashier as she continued to blab, blab, blab about her date to a friend on the phone. When I said, "excuse me, I'd like to pay for this," Her Highness rolled her eyes at me, and said to her friend, showing her annoyance, "I have to hang up. I have a CUSTOMER (emphasis to show irritation) I have to wait on."

I bet she called me a Karen behind my back, too.

YES! We have black people claiming systemic racism and kicking off a nation-wide destruction effort on the basis of a LIE (that police target unarmed blacks), and stores and corporations and everyone going on about how black lives matter, and it's pretty dang arrogant to start mocking white women while you're complaining about racism!

(Oh, excuse me...I have to get off the computer for a second.....there's some Tryone who just pulled into my neighborhood, and he's blaring his stereo radio full blast. These Tyrones are so annoying!)

Get over yourself. The left was calling anyone who disagreed with Obama a racist the day he was nominated, even when the disagreement was strictly over policy. Name calling isn't a left/right issue, it's a pervasive human trait.

Again, the "Karen" meme came from the retail and service industries where people are typically busy. It's faster to say "There's a Karen on the phone" than to say "There's a customer with a completely invalid complaint who wants to speak to a manager on line 2." When left to their own devices humans are very good at condensing information into a shorthand form.
