The bigger question is why DOESN'T it anger you?
I really fail to see any humor in this at all.
I AM angry at the violence and destruction. It's going on and on and on and on without end.

THIS looks, to me, like a very creative and nonviolent way to suddenly make it not cool to be out there rioting.

This might work, where nothing else has up to this point.

THIS is the way to get this shut down. Send in the moms, everyone will go back home. The genius of it is they are wearing very bright yellow shirts, so they can be seen as one unit, and rioters will be unlikely to target them.

I don't know - we'll see. Might not work. Might work amazingly quickly.

And for those who want the rioting to stop, why does this anger so many of you?
Yeah I can see that you’re thrilled!

If my mom showed up it would not be to help me cause more trouble and interfere with the police.

This is how I read it. These are parents defending little Johnny and Sally. The rioters are used to their parents shielding them from consequences, so they will not be deterred by "mom" being there. They always have been there defending them the other times they have been making trouble. 40-50 years ago this might have been a discouragement, but not anymore.

So why did you ask this earlier?

It seems like you are angry and want the rioting to stop also so what was the point of that question?

Just check out the many threads here...there are plenty of people that are upset about the federal jackboots "kidnapping" innocent patriotic protesters for exercising their 1st Amendment rights.

How cool will it be to be rioting/protesting in the streets if there's a wall of middle aged moms right there with you? Not cool, is the answer.

Like when the moms took over facebook. Edgy young people scattered to a variety of other mediums.

your prediction is that because the moms get in front, the current crop of protestors - both lawful and illegal - will go home? Or just the illegal ones?

I'm not necessarily predicting it, but I'm hopeful. As in, wow, this might just work.

you think Portland (for example) has TRIED anything else?

Require permits for the protest
Have an enforced curfew
Put cops - plain clothes or uniformed - among the protestors
Arrest every single one of them that breaks a law. this includes failure to disperse from blocking roadways.

If the municipal governance wants to st up protest zones to get away from illegal street blocking - have at it.

Moms failed when they raised their rug rats to be disrespectful angry violent thugs.

We don't need moms to solve this problem here in Portland. We need law enforcement.
