Sad how so many gullible people have fallen for this trap, and it is. Now, we've got to find a way to convince these pro athletes how bogus this "cause" actually is.
I raised two Millennials. Both of them have voted in every single election since they came of age, and both plan to vote in November.
Given the mood in the country, I think you might be unpleasantly surprised by the turnout this year. This year is like no other, so the past is not necessarily prelude. People are motivated, and that includes younger Americans.
And I say unpleasantly here because they will not be voting for Trump.
They do seem to be protesting in large numbers and that looks to me as participating. Or do they have to only join in on civic activities that you approve of. Does it count if it doesn’t create goodwill for you?
Yes, all such activities must be run by me beforehand.
Participating in criminal activity generally doesn't add to societal cohesion, as you can see.

A peaceful protest does add to social cohesion. I’ve personally participated for decades with varying results. Blm protests are engaging young voters. I see it every day. I’ll be happy to text you before the next one to get your permission. Will you help make some signs?
This thread is an imitation of Trump's attempt to conflate gun and gang violence with the BLM and peaceful protests against police brutality and racial inequality. Trump's claims are false and his narrative is racist and Americans are rejecting it.
Interesting, how a few years ago Democrats could honestly say they weren't Leftists, Communists, and Socialists. If they did, they hid it. Now, they openly support and self Identify as the above groups.
Because there's no real backlash, stigma or consequences for doing so anymore.
There are a lot of whiles who want to renounce racism, and were shocked at the George Floyd video, so they support BLM without looking at what the really stand for.
What outsider whites think BLM stands for, and what the insiders at BLM want it to be are vastly different things. I think a lot of the white supporters would be very turned off if they really dug into what BLM actually is.
People who support BLM know very well what they actually stand for - ant-racism. What are you, racist or anti-racist?
protesting doesn't mean to spray paint federal and public property, doesnt mean you throw bottles of urine, bricks, fireworks, etc at police officers, just b/c you can.. It doesn't mean you scream at police officers, calling them names, yelling at black cops that they are uncle toms and traitors, doesn't mean you burn down businesses, cop cars, and loot stores...that is not civic activities, and no; most people do not approve.
Better, way better, than protesting with guns, burning down churches, lynching, driving trucks into a crowd of peaceful protesters. All lives are more important than property.
White people and businesses who support BLM are whats known as "useful idiots". Eventually the movement will consume them as well.
Edit to add the average black person on the street as well. Read up on how communism consumes its own i.e. Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Pol Pot...
So, there is a very popular restaurant in Lakeview who was always very busy. So my friend told me that they had Black Lives Matter painted on one of their windows.. it was pretty big, maybe 6 feet tall. so they had that sign there painted for a bout a month, finally my friend wrote them a letter about it, what BLM means, etc.. and they removed the sign coincidentally.
so this weekend, that street has the event going on where the sidewalks are closed on Broadway, so that restaurants can extend their seating to the street.. Well my friend tells me that that particular restaurant had hardly any business but the other restaurants had twice as much business.
so it appears that this one diner which ordinarily did excellent business, may have paid the price for their BLM support, even if the restaurant had the original meaning of that slogan - (that black people matter).
Until ALL Black lives matter, the "BLM movement" is hollow. It's hard for me to understand how any thinking person can support it.
It's not hollow. It's racist and is destroying the black community.
