It is said that many of the Lincoln Project are neoconservatives of the Bush era moved out by the TEA party conservatives of the 2010's. I would say the Republican Party was hijacked but that the Lincoln Project are conservatives is a stretch.
The Lincoln Project is exactly the type of group that made me hate the Republican Party. They will sell out the country to the highest bidder. They are not conservatives.
It is weird how people can see things so differently. I see them(the Lincoln Project Republicans) and the Democrats as the Real Americans and Real Patriots.

I see the supporters of Trump as the ones who put party before country, are anti-patriotic and Anti-American because they put one man before the country and before the Constitution. Many live in an imaginary world where conspiracy theory and insanity collide...they are the biggest threat to the country to date.
