Media has been playing us like a guitar for six months. Don’t believe everything you read even it was from Carl Sagan (RIP) himself.
Don't read anything. 'Cause you already know that everything's fake, right?

We are LEARNING about a new virus infecting people. I don't see this as the media playing us, so much as the media is being played. They report what they are told. And the information that is coming out is not complete, because our knowledge of the virus is not complete. We have so much more to learn. What we DO know, is that this isn't the flu. That this virus attacks more than the respiratory system. That we have been experimenting on people with a variety of drugs and treatments, and it's taken months to weed out the ineffective treatments and to identify the most effective treatments. We know that multiple pharmaceuticals around the world are working on vaccines, with multiple approaches, and that some of those vaccines could possibly be available early next year.

Caution is the best possible approach to this. Caution with regards to the news (especially those "news" sources who are counseling abandoning all caution), caution with regards to our interactions with others, caution with regards to a virus that is unpredictable and new but has shown that it can kill.

The rotten food and bad water is supposed to make them hardier. That's what the other poster implied. So if they abstained from booze and drugs, they'd practically be Marvel Heroes. Right?

Without a pre-covid MRI, this study's conclusions are pretty unimpressive.

Well the headline and article are definitely misleading.
It was a study of 100 middle age people, 60% had some damage which is common with influenza, so no surprise.
Obviously enough data to warrant further studies by nothing to clutch pearls over.

I find your calm, rational approach disheartening.

Don't you know you're suppose to be in panic mode?

Then they can elect to pay for MRIs out of pocket or in increased policy rates or employer-burden and underemployment.
