Just when everyone thought it was over. Covid is raging again in Europe and Asia. Hong Kong is the big hot spot and China has the highest numbers since the pandemic began. Some studies say its the most contagious and possibly the most dangerous, other studies say less dangerous.

Covid cases climb in Europe as restrictions ease and BA.2 subvariant spreadsNearly half of European countries have recorded increases in new Covid cases over the last week. The U.S. could follow suit, but cases are still declining for now.

COVID cases were climbing this time last year when restrictions were tightened in Europe (March 2021). This time of the year is a normal time for a secondary wave of respiratory virus above the 45N due to vitamin D levels.

People turn off the news lol. It’s literally hyping a virus that leads to no more than cold like symptoms.

As far as I am concerned I’ll react the same to this as if it were a yet another strain of the flu. In other words keep on living my life, taking my vitamins, and hoping if I do get it I’ll get over it quickly.

Time to move on.

No one who is paying attention ever thought it was over. What is over are the mitigation strategies in the U.S. and other places.

No more shutdowns. The majority of the population has been vaccinated and nearly half have received a booster. Most people in the US will not support another shutdown or mandatory masking at this point. Our economy can't handle another shutdown. Given the impact of the last round of shutdowns, and its effects on the supply chain, more people are at likely at risk of not being able to afford enough to eat than suffering the effects of the new variant.

I am vaxxed and boosted. I go everywhere and do everything. I just thought those afraid of the vaccine are probably afraid of each covid wave. My public service announcement.
