CEOs Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Tim Cook (Apple), Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and Sundar Pichai (Google) are scheduled to testify testify before House Judiciary Committee today. It should be starting shortly.
This hearing is in the Democrat controlled House Judiciary committee, so it could be a very friendly forum for these CEO's, who routinely do the bidding of the Democrat left, most notably with their efforts to shadow-bad, censor, block and otherwise deplatform their political adversaries on the Republican right.
The Democrats are actually very critical of big tech, but it is not for their disrespect of free speech or open debate and discussion. Rather, it tends to be because the big tech companies continue to provide any platform for their political adversaries at all.
Bezos is cool because he's outwardly apolitical. Cook has been friendly with Trump. Zuckerberg and Pichai have been vocal critics of Trump's statements and policies, yet that's for show, in reality they have been dealing and meeting with Trump for a while now.
Yeah, this is another production by the Congressional Dems. We saw how that went yesterday with the testimony of William Barr. It was a model of how not to conduct a hearing by the Democrats. It was a full-on disgrace.
Hopefully this will be handled better, but in all likelihood, it will be another clown show.
One of the analysts on CNBC gave a good question to consider. Google has donated big money to a several House members. He said to pay close attention to see whether they'll go soft or hard on the company in today's hearing.
