I think the OP left out an important detail is that OR state will use their own resources by deploying OR state police/highway patrol to replace fBORTAC agents to protect feds property as part of the deal between DHS and OR.

this is a mistake, we need to send in the tanks; like we did in Waco only this situation is worse than Waco.

Got to wonder who was able to convince Trump that while this was not working out as planned.

While it is getting the RW folks all jacked up (see posts upstream on this thread), they were already going to vote for him.

Local and state officials did not aggressively send in the police to avoid injuries to police and protesters. And those officials have a strategy of allowing the protests to naturally dissipate.

"More than 700 law enforcement officers have been injured on the job during nationwide protests over the death of George Floyd."

"Three federal agents have likely been permanently blinded by rioters pointing lasers “directly at their eyes”"

20 Americans have lost an eye from rubber bullets while police intervened in the protests.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/serious...ts-11592070374

And as of June 8th (17) people have died in incidents stemming from the protests, including a retired police captain.

The Portland protests were getting smaller and going away, and Trumps Portland actions made the protests larger, and Trumps intervention caused 3 federal agents to be permanently blinded with lasers.

One must consider that the protesters are mad at the police, and police presence makes the protesters even more upset. And the liberal strategy of allowing the protests to naturally dissipate stops police and protester injuries, stops protesters from loosing eyes from rubber bullets, stops police agents from being permanently blinded with lasers, and stops protesters and police from being killed.

I really don't get the logic and argument from the left "federal agents only add fuel to the fire" or "feds agents make protesters madder"

Last time I checked it was a non-feds city cop in Minneapolis killed George Floyd. The vast majority of police brutality cases in the US are done by city/county/state police, not federal agents. The whole damn protest in Portland is about police brutality

Same as before they got there? No justification needed after all they are just peaceful demonstrators trying to make some smores.

They will find another excuse to blame Trump.

Nightly violence and protest had been going on for 59 days in Portland before the feds got involved. Nothing will change

Just so i understand let them burn some buildings, deface and damage property until they get tired of it?
That way no one gets hurt.

Interesting to see that our friends on the left are still supporting the terrorists.
