Zero substance.

Again, you can have all the compassion you want. Just don't force others to pay for it.

there you go, stereotyping again. Well, Rachel suffers from it too, but still - you be you.

I think that's an excellent note to leave this thread on, for me.

Thank God most people are able to see nuances, and don't sit around thinking hateful things about struggling people they don't even know.

Will those be a requirement to receive benefits? Will there be random checks to ensure education is followed? I don't want requirements or checks on people who are free to make their own mistakes. And I can't get behind more $ for education when a community can't help its own people to get out of poverty.

I am sure you have had your house in such a perfect order that you now have time to save the world!

No, you are going to force other people to pay for your compassion.

Good graces, some of you are so condescending and hypocritical!

You can NOT be serious, making this statement, after you wrote the OP.

The OP was just a list of facts and you feel free to rebut. So far, none did.

Well, I did, but I guess you didn't read it.

I named two families in poverty who are doing none of the things you are smearing a huge chunk of the American population with.

And they're struggling mightily. And they're not criminals, or producing children they can't support, and they're working long hours, and they love their children.

You, on the other hand, don't know any of these people, so it's hard for me to believe you could know they "don't love their children", or that "they're out committing crimes". I was out with one teen girl, teaching her how to open a bank account, and we had to go back to the bank because she had accidentally taken the pen from the counter. Would you have done that?
