I understand #1 as they are poor and don’t have money, but the rest points are inexcusable for being poor.
Really? Do you belong to a religion or faith?

Pretty much all of them advocate helping those who are less fortunate.

From the National Council on Aging:

"Over 25 million Americans aged 60+ are economically insecure—living at or below 250% of the federal poverty level (FPL) ($29,425 per year for a single person). These older adults struggle with rising housing and health care bills, inadequate nutrition, lack of access to transportation, diminished savings, and job loss. For older adults who are above the poverty level, one major adverse life event can change today’s realities into tomorrow’s troubles."

The elderly poor are often unable to work even if they want to. They are stuck. Some elderly poor are only poor because their spouse (or they) had a long, drawn out death with a lot of medical bills.

I have a lot of empathy and sympathy for the elderly poor. One of the few charities I give to supports them.

Is none of these true? That is what you suggest here.
Same can be said for middle class and even the rich.

Didya see that part about IQ and competent parents? Some of us don't have that.

I asked WHO are the poor?

The official poverty measure is determined by a household's pre-tax income; for example, in 2016, a family of four earning less than $24,339 would be considered poor. From 1980 to 2014, the number of people living in poverty in the United States grew from about 29.3 million to 46.7 million.Oct 12, 2017- I bet after this pandemic,, those numbers will certaintly increase.

5.3% of the population—or 17.3 million people—live in deep poverty, with incomes below 50% of their poverty thresholds.

And 29.9% of the population—or 93.6 million—live close to poverty, with incomes less than two times that of their poverty thresholds
.
So who is paying these miserable wages while cost of living is up the roof?

And this is the GOP we DESTROYED by voting in President Trump. The Willard Romney 47% crony capitalist type of republican. Let's hope it never returns. Oh and most of those aren't from poor people but a CERTAIN percentage of the population.

You do know our population would nosedive and that our country would fail if that occurred right?
