What's with all the bible thumping and references to religion in this thread? Welfare is Federally funded and therefore has to maintain the separation between church and state.
Now if welfare was voluntarily funded, which it should be, you'd have a point.
I've asked the same thing. All these Jesus quotes and whatnot. This isn't the religion forum.

If the Jesus comments are from progressives it's a jab at Christianity which they largely despise and to signal the right is the religious right which today it is not. They are just being dishonest yet again.
There are too many excuses being made for the poor. True, some people are incapable of supporting themselves - due to either mental or physical disabilities - and just about everyone I know agrees that we should help people like that.
But I brought up early in this thread about how the poor of the past, generally speaking, were "better" than the poor of today, again generally speaking. An answer came back that the poor of yesteryear didn't have to live in these dirty, crime-ridden ghettos....but that makes the point! Who's fault is it that these "poor ghettos" are full of trash and crime? The poor themselves. When my Dad grew up, dirt-poor in NYC, everyone in his neighborhood (they certainly wouldn't have called it a ghetto) was poor as well, but they kept their streets clean of trash and their apartments tidy, and the boys played "stickball" after school rather than hang out on the corner smoking reefer (the term of the day) and disobeying police.

Excellent, and succinct response. This OP has gotten a LOT of attention for this stupid and arrogant original post, and others like me have doggedly and sincerely tried to educate her, to no avail.
And she's clearly basking in the attention, likely a situation she never enjoys in real life.
Anyway, I'm out of here. Thank you, JRikeMAGA, for making this so clear.
Once again, she got a free pass from either China or Filipines or Vietnam because of being an Ally. Thats the "hard work" she put in to get here. And wonders why poor people in America is enjoying some respect, freedom and basic amenities that she never got.

Still waiting for you to find this person.
One single able-bodied person who stays poor if he or she does the following:
1. Obey the law.
2. Don’t drink or do drugs.
3. Don’t have children they can’t afford and don’t have children without marriage.
4. Focus on education.
5. Do what’s told at work.
6. Live below your means.
Until you find that person, you have zero argument against my claim. All you have done so far is virtue signaling which is disgusting to say the least.

vir·tue sig·nal·ing
noun
noun: virtue signalling; noun: virtue signaling
the action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue.
"it's noticeable how often virtue signaling consists of saying you hate things"
Here is the meaning of virtue signaling and pretty much matches what you have been repeating in these 100 pages. I don't even want to write whats the meaning of disgusting. Again , your usage of the word in this context is incorrect.
I understand your English proficiency and comprehension is limited since English is not your native language.
Often it is. And once a person makes a mistake, good jobs become hard/impossible to get. So they have a side hustle to feed their kids.
