Yep. 1958 occurred when Eisenhower was in office. The 2008 crash occurred when Bush was in office. The 1987 stock market crash occurred when Reagan was in office. Even the Great Depression occurred when Herbert Hoover was in office. Americans sure are stupid. LOL. They never learn.
Just think, if Trump had taken this virus seriously back in March and April we would be well past the worst of it by now, and working to recovery.
Instead, five months later we are in worse shape when it comes to containing it than we were at the start. No other country has fared as terribly as the U.S.

And done what that is within his purview as President in a country with a 10th Amendment? Or is this one of those "if he had been more serious, everyone would have followed along, even Democrats" assertions?

The 10th Amendment stopped him from being a worse tyrant than he already is, and chaos theory says you cannot possibly know how the present is affected by changing a single variable in the past.

Liberals whined about the travel ban regarding China at the end of January.
Because it was too little too late and did nothing to stop the thousand and thousands of Americans and other non-Chinese from entering, FROM CHINA! What good did it do to ban some people coming from China but allow thousands of others to come on through?
And that one failed act is the whole of what Trump did to try to stem the flow. And here we are, 150,000 and counting dead Americans later and still you wave that failed act around like some kind of talisman.
Democrat 2020 platform... vote for us or we will destroy everything of value in this country... the economy, brick and mortar businesses, sports, entertainment, health care, the internet/social media...

You have just described Trump's America.
So tell us, what should have Trump done differently ? And you were saying we are the only country that has fared this bad ? Interesting. It seems like entire globe , with the exception of some countries still seems to be struggling. Sure, looking back, I'd have made some tougher calls but I still think we would have ended up in the same shape we are in.
Trump bankrupted every business he has ever had anything to do with. Did you really expect anything else from him?
