I honestly don't see how the left can be blamed for using this for virus for their political agenda, I mean other than pointing out Trump's incompetence in his response but that's just taking the softball he has lobbed them and crushing it.
No it was Donald Trump who politicized this way back in early March by calling it a liberal hoax out to get him. As a result his followers didn't, and still don't, accept that it was a very real risk. I mean we still have multiple posters still claiming it's the flu as amazing as that is. OTHER COUNTRIES DO NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE and we are still paying for this with 150,000 lives and no end in site. Many of those lives are on Trump.
I agree it started with Trump. As a liberal leaning independent, I have really been disappointed with 4 year of attack and Trump just fighting back. Both sides have been so busy fighting each other that they don't seem to be governing for We The People.
The timing of this virus in an election year just exasperates everything.

I'm with you, at first I was concerned about simple things like pumping gas, we did wipe down every item from the grocery store or leave the non-parishibles to sit for a day. Now I don't do any of that, I simply use a little hand sanitizer and concentrate on wearing a mask and staying away from A-holes who think this is the nothing more than the flu.
As for your husband I for the life of me can't figure out why school districts would take on that kind of liability. If he was forced to work when he did not feel comfortable and he dies from COVID you will sue and you will win. Big time.

But suing isn’t going to work. You can never prove exactly where you actually caught COVID. Even if it’s incredibly likely you caught it at work, it’s almost impossible to truly prove that. If you could prove it, I am sure schools would not be re-opening because of the fear of lawsuits (or they would just get iron-clad waivers for everyone to sign).
Mine is a different story and probably one of the few changes from denier to believer. I was in denial up until March. Our small conservative AZ town was obviously low risk, yet our hospital prepared for the virus. Then I got the bug at Beaver Creek ski area in March, and gave it to my wife, nearly killing her.
Our town, though not hospital, remained in denial. Then the S hit the fan after Memorial Day with huge numbers of incoming vacationers. My wife is doing better and we have been in Portland for the summer. People all mask here, and the virus is under control as opposed to AZ. Gyms are open here, and my gym in AZ just closed for good.
