LOL. Trump had two tries at reading and saying the word "Yosemite" and still couldn't get it. I wonder what the oranges of the pronunciation of "Yosemite" are?
It should be embarrassing enough that he reads like a 3rd grader.
Trump knew he made a mistake, but he couldn't remember the correct pronunciation. He tried to get it right the second time when he said "Yo-seminite", sticking an n into the word. That confused him even more as he realized he got it wrong a second time.
He will never be a good reader, but if he was to practice just once before he read something off the teleprompter, he would avoid these embarrassments.
That plays into what I have always felt is Northeastern provencialsim rather than anything partisan. I still have that California chip on my shoulder about that.

My guess is he never heard of Yosemite National Park. If he can't put up a hotel there or con anyone, he's just not interested.

NO ONE IN THIS ENTIRE THREAD is celebrating the signing of this Great American Outdoors Act. No one. And I read through the entire blasted 19 pages of comments.
Abbottkd71 did make note that it was during the signing of this fabulous act that Trump made this gaff, but apparently NO ONE in this thread except me is dancing in my kitchen, that this bill has passed.
Thank God. Literally, thank God for this fabulous bill to protect our precious national parks.
(I'll be as glad to see Trump go as the next guy, but really? Can't we celebrate this national triumph of the signing of this wonderful act?)
Someone who isn't familiar with a subject and hasn't heard the word spoken before (or for a very long time) can lead to pronunciation mistakes.
Trump made a mistake?
Stop the presses, this needs to be front page news.
Surely a self proclaimed genius, that brags about acing a cognitive test can pronounce Yosemite.
