Typical, "some people" don't want to follow the rules and then post their sob story on social media!

Pressed for comment by the York Daily Record about the incident, the school said “decorum of York Catholic’s Baccalaureate and Graduation ceremonies follow the tradition that no messages are permitted on caps or gowns” and added that “graduate wearing a cap, gown, or mask with any message would have been asked to remove it.”

Father: "The action taken against my son demonstrates that York Catholic High School has miles to go before they can put the ugliness of unconscious bias and racism to sleep," he said.

What if it was a Trump 2020 or MAGA mask?

Parents and kids should know schools aren't the place for political messages.

Private school. If they say no political messages on masks there is nothing else to discuss.

Public schools don't allow political messages either.

I agree it is ridiculous for this kid to whine and for his parents to whine.

BUT if the kid had a MAGA mask and was told to take it off, you all would be crying intolerance and how there is no freedom of speech.

And yet, he chose to enroll his son in this unconsciously biased, racist school. Way to care about your son, pops.

Nope. I'd be saying that the school rules trump (no pun intended) whatever messages the graduates wanted to wear. However, I'd certainly be complaining IF the MAGA mask was disallowed but the BLM one was allowed.

Who is you all. rules are rules it matters not what the message is, NO messages are permitted. There are certain limitations to freedom of speech.
Outside of an institution/venue/HOA/etc. that has a set policy display BLM, MAGA, La Raza, Gay Pride, etc. all you want.
