An immigrant from Haiti or Trinidad would not be African American. African Americans are natural born US citizens by definition.

Are they running for POTUS? No. Focus on Biden's long-documented and continuing racism. He's the Dem candidate.
There are just a lot of ignorant people in the US and as we can see in this thread, many of them are Dems/lefties. In their ignorance, they're defending Biden's blatant racism.
