Looks like this will be the next wave of news concerning this whole mess. I guess you are first learning about it here on this thread.
No one I know has long term damage. That's just media fluff and scare pieces.

Some very serious worries with potential longer term cardiac and pulmonary implications.

At least the second article (didn't click on first) just details scarring due to pneumonia. This is not specific to Sars-CoV-2. If influenza gave you pneumonia, you run the same risk especially if you're hooked up to a ventilator.

This is more media scaremongering, trying to make Sars-CoV-2 seem scarier than it really is.

Unfortunately, there are exceptions to the rule that college kids don't get severely sick from COVID as this one can candidly tell you. He came down with it bad last June after working in a bar and still is having lingering after effects with breathing. Whether you're young or old, this COVID virus is not something to fool around with. You have no idea if you'll get very sick from it or not:

This is a good video from just a few days ago. This particular doctor is very well respected.

The entire platform of the Trump base right now is "me first". "look out for #1". Of course anyone who is not them, or their loved-ones is an inconsequential "outlier".

People who are less fortunate: F-them
People who disagree with them: Hates America
People who got sick: Deserved it

Happens to them: I'm a victim, I'll sue someone.....

Yes and yes.

Some of us are still looking for the scientific source with evidence that wearing a mask "weakens" the immune system.

Because some people are developing scarring that, based on similar scarring from other infections, is likely to be permanent,
