Yes, people in my circle are being diagnosed now. They think they will get all better but they never fully recover and Uncover long term damage. It is scary stuff.
Looks like this will be the next wave of news concerning this whole mess. I guess you are first learning about it here on this thread.
No one I know has long term damage. That's just media fluff and scare pieces.
Patients surviving ARDS commonly have permanent respiratory impairment.
At least the second article (didn't click on first) just details scarring due to pneumonia. This is not specific to Sars-CoV-2. If influenza gave you pneumonia, you run the same risk especially if you're hooked up to a ventilator.
This is more media scaremongering, trying to make Sars-CoV-2 seem scarier than it really is.
Unfortunately, there are exceptions to the rule that college kids don't get severely sick from COVID as this one can candidly tell you. He came down with it bad last June after working in a bar and still is having lingering after effects with breathing. Family and friends of 150,000+ who died right here on our soil disagree with your characterization of their dearly departed as mere “outliers”.
The entire platform of the Trump base right now is "me first". "look out for #1". Of course anyone who is not them, or their loved-ones is an inconsequential "outlier".
People who are less fortunate: F-them
People who disagree with them: Hates America
People who got sick: Deserved it
Happens to them: I'm a victim, I'll sue someone.....
So you're saying if an individual reduces their exposure to viruses and bacteria over a prolonged period of time, their immune system will remain unchanged? Do you even know how an immune system works?
Yes and yes.
Some of us are still looking for the scientific source with evidence that wearing a mask "weakens" the immune system.

Because some people are developing scarring that, based on similar scarring from other infections, is likely to be permanent,
Amputated limbs are not going to grow back.
