I’m really not interested in any sort of “relations” with law enforcement. I just want them to do their damn jobs and treat ALL people with equanimity.
Yeah, you will care when cops are leaving in drove and recruiting pool for police applicants are shrinking.
Smaller pool = less qualified applicants to be cops = less cops on the street
Thats the history of Democrat run cities with Democrat mayors, city councils, and Democrat Police Chiefs, they Don't have a clue in dealing with community policing. They just have no answers and are incapable in dealing with problems.

Being a cop is not like being a burger flipper. You need to maintain good relationship with your elected leader to do your job effectively.
Cops often have to make independent decisions using their own judgement to do their job. Are you going to use your own decision making process if you know full well your elected leader is going to prosecute you and throw you under the bus for doing your job? **** no.
I’ll give you an example. You are a cop and you are patrolling the beat in a corporate business area at midnight. You spotted a young black male walking up down the street at one o’clock in the morning on a Sunday with a duffel bag. He looks clean and doesn’t appear to be homeless. This area is known for multiple break-in and business burglary in the last 2 weeks. It was reported that the perpetrator, for the recent burglaries, was possibly a black male.
In any normal circumstances you would have enough reasonable suspicion to stop this black male for an investigative detention. Every time you make contact with anybody, there is always a small chance of them running away, resisting, or even attacking/trying to kill you. You know your elected leader will throw you under the bus if something go side way (i.e. to Rayshard Brooks incident in Atlanta)
So, are you going to risk a small possibility of going to jail and/or lose your job if you stop this black male and something goes wrong, or are you going to drive pass him and pretend like you didn’t see him?
