They aren't afraid of anything. BLM and ANTIFA are their shock troops and have the full endorsement of the dem party. The dems and the DNC use violent behavior as a matter of course as one of their primary means of intimidation. Violence has become a default tool for the dems that they often use against their political opponants.
Dems want them to push out the envelope as much as possible to prompt a lethal reaction; this is what the dems want to help their election chances.
Look for the dems to "step up the pressure" and urge their BLM and ANTIFA allies to become more and more bold.

The gun toting conservatives weren't pointing it at cars to stop traffic. The gun toting conservatives killed zero people, physically harmed zero people, and caused zero dollars in property damage.
Look at the rioters firing guns at cops in Chicago last night and the propaganda media is still saying it was "mostly peaceful" after looting, arson, and dozens of shots fired at cops.
Liberal riots have literally done more destruction than the Beirut explosion.
