Great news, the more you can teach your kids at home and away from leftist propaganda mills the better. We do both, they attend school and we teach at home as well. Literally have a library in our basement.

I largely did the same, however most parents aren't well equipped to handle with that.
Others, if you talk to teachers you may know, are absentee parents and without the school and it's structure a whole bunch of kids are going to be in a lot of trouble regarding their education.
As for leftist propaganda mills, most of that is in higher education and not highschool, at least not in my area...so I recognize that could vary.
However, most of the time you can choose much of your curriculum and you don't run into that stuff in math, chemistry etc. classes. Even at college, a lot of the nuttiness is concentrated in certain areas\majors.
Just my 2 cents.
P.S. There are some extremely good on-line learning classes for free these days on youtube etc. and I suspect with Covid parent groups will reach out to individuals that can handle subjects they can't like if Calculus isn't your bag.
Well if that's true than the entire system is a failure, right?
Since everyone who went to public school isn't fit to teach their own kids?
That *is* what you're saying, right?
That isn’t what anyone is saying. Some parents don’t have the disposition to teach. My father, for example, would have been a terrible teacher even though he was one of the most roundly self educated people I’ve ever known. The man literally knew something about almost everything, even though he would have been considered an expert on only a few topics. However, his patience level when it came to teaching basic skills was nonexistent. I’m very much like him, with a wide range of knowledge but no patience for teaching what I consider basic skills. I have no problem teaching my children how to cook, clean, do basic home and auto repair, or work with wood. Teaching them math? I’d rather poke myself in the eye with a salt dipped rusty nail.
I’ve never been on board with the idea of getting rid of public schools. I’d prefer not to live in the dark ages, thanks anyway. We need to address some issues with the public school system, but getting rid of it altogether because of a few issues makes even less sense than getting rid of police departments over a few bad cops.
