It is really astounding to see so many internet posts by a fringe group of lunatics who refuse to wear masks, painting it as "power grab by authorities" instead of the true health oriented action that it really is.
Face masks work, they do prevent the transmission of Covid.
There are so many sources of data and studies that show face masks work to reduce the transmission of this highly contagious disease, it's indisputable.
And yet we have a fringe lunatic group who continue to frame the masks as an issue of power, instead of what it truly is - our only tool to easily prevent transmission of covid-19. We don't yet have a vaccine, we don't have 100% proven treatments. Masks are cheap and easy way to reduce the impact of this disease.
Reading this article, it made me angry thinking about how some of these people are spreading lies and rumors that are truly harming our society. America is suffering from the continued transmission of covid because a few keep spreading lies against masks. We are not able to safely reopen the economy, allow our fellow Americans to get back to work, and get life more back to normal.
In other countries where adults act like adults, wearing masks has dramatically reduced infections that businesses have successfully opened back up, jobs are booming again. America is one of the countries suffering because we have immature people in this country who won't grow the hell up and put on a damn mask

PS - part of me suspects some of these lunatics are agents from other countries like Russia or China, that seek to sow confusion and misinformation to keep our Covid infection rates to increase, so the US economy continues to suffer in relation to their economies, and we lose power compared to them. Russia / China / Iran / North Korea are interfering in our elections, and I suspect they are trying to destroy our economy as well with these tactics. We need to wake the hell up and stop this from happening.
In most parts of the country people are wearing masks while inside retail stores and other indoor private offices/facilities.

This is an important issue because it is wreaking havoc on our economy as we continue to be forced to shut down businesses, keep kids from schools, because of the potential for increased transmission of covid due to people who don't want to follow a simple common sense task of using masks.

I thought this was going to be a thread on how peaceful protesters are destroying cities. Boy was I wrong.
Unfortunately anti mask has become part of right of center politics in some areas. Anything pushed by left of center people is automatically suspect.
PS maybe you should change the thread title to indicate this is a mask thread.
