It doesn't matter who winds, we'll need people who can speak Chinese. They are the second largest economy in the world, and at the very least we'll need to be able to interact.
We already have millions of people who can speak Chinese here and by the way, the business language of the world is English.
Such a weird thing for someone like to Trump to say when he is in the back pocket of Putin and Russia. He even has no problem with them paying out bounties for the killing of US military members. Accepts their help and interference in US elections. Wants to end the G-7 punishment of Russia for invading the Ukraine and annexing Crimea. Trump loves Putin and Russia BIGLY.
He's just pulling out all the stops. There is no telling what all we're going to here by the time the election rolls around.
Really? The guy who has been a part of driving the nation 26 trillion in debt, in fact for over 40 years he has been a part of everything that is wrong in DC.
The Dems do have the history of selling us out to the Chinese, especially American manufacturing.
Wasn't it the left that accused Romney of Cold War thinking when he warned us about the Russians? Now the Russians are the left's boogieman. China is the real threat, no maybe to it.

Is it? Perhaps. I know that English is the preferred language for air traffic control, and, used to be, French was the preferred language of diplomacy.
I would guess that the large, international corporations have had the foresight to have people that speak Mandarin, English, and other languages.
I will note that the latest census found that around 3 million Americans spoke Chinese at home. Yet, 41 million speak Spanish.
I say: learn Spanish (which I have a nodding knowledge of, being a Texan).

Ready or not, English is now the global language of business. More and more multinational companies are mandating English as the common corporate language—Airbus, Daimler-Chrysler, Fast Retailing, Nokia, Renault, Samsung, SAP, Technicolor, and Microsoft in Beijing, to name a few—in an attempt to facilitate communication and performance across geographically diverse functions and business endeavors.
Why should English speaking Americans learn Spanish? Most Spanish speakers in our country legally or are citizens of our country are bi-lingual English speakers. Our de facto national language is English. It's up to foreign language speakers to learn English here not the other way around.
We shouldn't have to so what are you talking about?
