Smart is relative, He is way smarter in some areas and I'm smarter in others...I could never do his job though...he possesses the better smarts in that area.
Broken clocks and twice a day come to mind. Trump just got lucky by the Democrats underestimating the time needed to shore up the Great Lakes states. Not only will they not make that same mistake next time, there's a whole slew of states south of the Potomac that Trump could easily lose if Biden puts in some real effort (ones at least fairly solidly in Trump's camp in 16).
Hell, even Texas is withing striking range of the Democrats this time around. Certainly they can pick up a few more congressional districts, if nothing else. Possibly even seize Cornyn's seat. Either way, Texas is shifting toward purple. And Trump himself is accelerating that trend!

There are different types of intelligence, not just the one we traditionally think of when judging people. When it comes to “book smarts” I could run laps around him, no question. However, Trump is as sly as a fox and one cunning dude. He has out maneuvered many a person who thought they were smarter than him, when in reality they were just more intellectual than him. The man is better at figuring out how to get under someone’s skin to the point it renders them ineffectual better than anyone I have ever seen in my life.
