The reporter asking this question was S.V. Date of Huffington Post. We need more of this sort of questioning in the WH briefing room. And Sir Lies-a-Lot didn't have an answer, what a surprise.
Let's hope this 'holding feet to the fire' will continue after Trump is no longer in office. Or will the media revert to being hypnotized stenographers like they were prior to 2016?

What we really need is every reporter questioning Congress about why Trump isn't being arrested for freely admitting his flagrant attempt to interfere with an election by crippling the USPS. It's also time to vote new articles of impeachment, to be imposed January 20, 2021 should Trump win the election.
However, Trump supporters will come in here and claim he was cool under pressure or some such nonsense. Whatever helps them sleep at night. I'm sure millions of Americans have to wonder why mail-in balloting is ok for Trump but not for them. There's some lie they will happily believe.
My life might be so much simpler if I was as deliberately obtuse as some people.
I mean can't that question to ask of any politician? But no, it won't be asked to every politician because it isn't about the question, it is about a "reporter" making a name for themselves. A question that adds noting, means nothing and is only about career development. A waste of time at your expense.

The thing is, Trump supporters and other Republicans think that by Trump being acquitted of charges in early 2020 is equal to Trump being innocent of any future charge as well. They'd point back to "remember the Ukraine scandal impeachment? Republicans didn't convict him then, so they won't convict him now." They'd be right too.
Don't forget. Some Republicans Senators that felt the need to justify their vote said that the American people will decide the President's fate since they did not want to exercise their constitutional duty and dispense justice in the Senate.
They said that in the hopes that the American people would forget our own solemn duty in November. They were hoping we'd be distracted by some other news headlines. I bet if there were any Trump supporters or Trump-leaners that were thinking about abstaining from voting for Trump in part due to impeachment, they've likely forgotten all about it.

When challenged Trump simply ends the interview or briefing saying the reporters are being nasty then goes on Twitter to vent unfiltered with a mouth that most mothers would wash out with a bar of soap.
Regardless of policies I will be happy just to have an adult representing this country at home and abroad and hopefully a Congress that does the job they were elected to do.

He's usually able to mumble some scatological reply to most anything.
