just proves how stupid and easily convincible the general population is
How can super healthy 25 year olds worry about something that is only a significant risk to 70-90 year olds with severe health problems? you have 1,000 times the odds of dying from a car crash than you do from dying from covid as a pro athlete
is this like a giant experiment in how stupid the general population is?
I feel bad for the athletes that would have been playing in their last season. Not all of them are ultra rich elite athletes and they were really counting on that last year to cash in before their bodies have had enough.
I already miss Tom Brady from the Patriots and I was looking forward to seeing what he could do with the Buccaneers but given his age he is already playing on borrowed time.
Of course when we are talking about most pro athletes they have access to top doctors, supplements etc.. that can keep them in top form. They have so much more at their disposal than say the average medical worker that faces the covid threat everyday or even a Walmart worker.
If the athletes can dedicate themselves to their careers and maybe stay out of the strip joints, away from parties and large gatherings for their season they can probably escape the virus.

It is.
Neil deGrasse Tyson said it's 'an experiment' to see if people 'listen to the scientists.'
It is not just that athletes themselves. It is also the concern of bringing it home. Some have wives that are expecting for example. Or family members that could be at a higher risk of getting sick.

Probably because 70-90 year olds aren’t the only ones at risk. It’s a respiratory disease (hint: athletes need their lungs), that they’re starting to speculate turns into a vascular diseases.
Why is so mix of the general population still ignorant to this?
These are professional athletes, and Covid can ruin their careers for life. Even some asymptomatic infections damage the lungs. There are all kinds of blood clotting issues, and kidney damage.
They darn well should be concerned.

This doesn't change your point, but Covid is more of a vascular disease then respiratory.

It does not bug me if they play, nor does it bug me if they choose not to.
