Maybe Pelosi can make herself useful and strap on a mail bag and start delivering.

What's important to Nancy ?

China virus relief ? No

Elections ? Yes

Getting liberals elected is more important than getting relief to citizens in need due to the China virus !!! She went on recess knowing the pressing need to reach a deal !!! That didn't get her to end the recess !!! Getting her to end the recess was concern that maybe her party won't win elections !!!

Pelosi calls members back to Capitol Hill to consider USPS legislation, calls post office 'Election Central'

From what I understand McConnell wasn't having it -- he left town.

Doesn't make much sense for Pelosi and the rest of the House to stay in DC if the Senate isn't going to be there to negotiate.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) said they would only return to talks if Republicans agreed to spend significantly more than $1 trillion.

Not going to happen !!!

It wasn’t “Pelosi’s bill” that included funding for a new FBI headquarters.

In any event, at least Pelosi recognizes that there are critical issues that need to be addressed and has called House members back to D.C. accordingly.
The puppet Trump installed at the Post Office will testify this week.

McConnell on the other hand...

Democrats offered a plan already. They were also way ahead of the game on this. They recognized more financial help was needed by millions of Americans months ago. The House passed it then. That's the point at which McConnell and Trump should have been negotiating. Instead, they waited until the old plan expired. And then Trump said he was going to fix it himself (somehow).

And I think what people fail to realize here... voting through the mail isn't an Democratic or Republican problem. It is an American problem. Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike are going to vote through the mail. Voting is a right that should not be abridged or denied to any American.

Voting by mail is NOT new. What IS new is the volume we should expect. What Trump is doing with the USPS issue is the same thing he did with coronavirus. We know this will be a problem at a national level. What we need is a national response coordinated by a nationally elected official. If only there was someone up to the task.

Instead, he said coronavirus was no big deal. Wow, that underestimating of coronavirus should be enough to disqualify him from the presidency more than anything else he has done or does not do. Now, given the circumstances, instead of empowering Americans to vote, he is discouraging it. Is there anything more Republican than suppressing the vote?

She passed the Covid Bill in May. Still languishing on Mitch ‘s desk.
She brought them back to protect the post office.

Support for the PO is NOT the only thing holding up the bill. Mostly they don’t like the money to help states (who are constrained by balanced budget amendments) pay for Covid related expenses.
Trump signed the largest unbalanced budget in history when he signed the Republican tax cuts.
