Liberalism is the greatest threat the US has faced since its inception.

Dems, of course, turn a blind eye to this, which deep down, they know is wrong.

I guess you haven’t heard the news: we are in the middle of a pandemic.

NYC due to being a major port of entry was first and hardest hit of American cities. It will bounce back.

For the prices people pay in NYC I'd be leaving too. It is absolutely not worth what they are going through. Wether it's traffic or dollars it was too much and the virus burst a very over inlfated or hyped bubble.

It is hard to believe virtually every major store/shop is bordered up on his 4 minute drive, with some never to return.

I read that rents are plummeting because so many are leaving. Keep voting Dem, this is what you’ll get.

I could have told you this. In NJ suburbs outside of Manhattan, homes aren't staying on the market more than a few days, and there are many bidding wars. These are mostly Manhattan residents moving out of the city.

I am in The Hamptons right now, where many Manhattan residents have second homes. It is busier than I have ever seen it during the work week. They all moved out to their second homes back in March, and have been working from out here. Many are saying they are never going back.

For anyone who ever wanted an apartment in Manhattan, I think now is a great buying opportunity. I'm considering buying some rental properties in the city, because if history shows us anything, it is that people forget. I have always regretted not buying anything after 9/11. I could have doubled my money after a few years. NYC will be back one day, it just may take a couple of years to get there.

I live on the outskirts of the city. My husband was there last week and took video of eerily empty streets, some boarded up stores, hardly any pedestrians, homeless camped out on the sidewalk, and a few nearly empty outdoor restaurant areas. While doing this, he was harassed. He boasted about how he got there in record time during rush, though. No traffic!

There is no political will to try to revive the economy, or reign in the rampant criminality. They have a lot of political will to go after businesses who flout the Covid rules though. Hypocritical, deranged far leftist ideologues run the city.

Hopefully, the fruits of socialism and 'criminal justice reform' are on full display, and people will learn to avoid these things like the plague.

You have leadership that promises to 'pull you out of the water' if you dare to swim on Memorial Day, but doesn't care about shootings, mobs, looting, graffiti....

jury is out. i think maybe they are stupid. they may have rightly decided that Deblasio is an idiot but they have not yet connected the idiocy to ideology.

until they do that, they remain in the stupid category. IDEOLOGY is killing New York. Deblasio is just the current water carrier.

It's actual definition as it relates to first responders is the eminent threat to life, limb, eyesight, and significant property loss.

The type of lasers that are being used against LE are not you typical little cheap pointers you can buy anywhere. Instead they are much higher is wattage and can cause permanent eye damage, including blindness.
In my view, while all the things the leftist thugs are using against LE like commercial grade fireworks, intentionally pointing a high powered laser at them should get an immediate response. Whether it be lethal or not is something society will need to figure out quickly. But the men & women who are protecting society should not be subjected to intentional blindness.

In any event it seems as if the video is accurate based not only on my friend, but other CD posters who live and work nearby.

It is really hard to believe a simple elected official/s like a mayor or city council can declare a free for all, and let their citizens be subjected to lawlessness and mayhem.
People say they will pay a price at election time.
But even if that were true, why are they not held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of dollar loss, if not millions upon millions of dollars lost, and the human suffering they are intentionally allowing to happen?
If the governor doesn't do something, why are they not held directly accountable?

I'll be happy to explain how it got safe. Rudy Guilani took over in 1993 and cleaned it up. They started cracking down on the "small stuff"....like guys jumping subway turnstiles, "squeege guys" who would rub a dirty rag on your car windshield while you were stopped at a light, and then expect to get paid for it, loitering, and all kinds of other nuisance type things. They gave the cops free reign to do what had to be done, and POOF!... like magic, crime started going down and kept going down.

Fast forward to today, and you've got a soft on crime Marxist in control.

And NYC is going right back to where it was 25 years ago, pre-Rudy.

Don't we EVER learn ???
