It's long past due we rethink the whole concept of this law enforcement thing.
I, for one, always thought the prison system is stupid and wasteful.
Instead of locking them up, make them all have to work jobs that are difficult to fill or tough to do. Like clean up abandoned buildings, clean our sewer system, rebuilt stuff, etc. Instead of prison sentences, give them a dollar amount that they have to pay off in order to leave prison - they can only pay off their debt with work they do while in prison - so the more they work the more money they earn and the faster they get out.

How much time have you spent around violent criminals? The liberals would never allow what amounts to slavery in your second paragraph.
A panelist at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) called to abolish the police. More than that, they called for a complete end to law enforcement – from the police to ICE, to prisons in general.
The person spoke during the DNC’s LGBTQ caucus roundtable and did their own version of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine.’
“Why can’t, why can’t folks imagine a world without the cops?” they asked. “Why can’t folks imagine a world without prisons? Why can’t people expand their imaginations to include community care to include an abolitionist future?”
Why can’t people imagine a world without law enforcement?
Well, because people don’t want to imagine a world of anarchy and lawlessness, maybe? That would be my best guess.
So lets see you would rather be killed by one of Trump's jackbooted thugs than by a robber? I figure I would still be dead whether killed by a cop or a bad guy! Or do you think getting killed by a cop is a ticket to heaven or something???? Seriously police are way too militarized and see gun as be all and end all of every situation. Lot like Barney Fife character on the old tv show. You need them thinking with their brains not their substitute metal penis. Like the character Andy Taylor, he didnt do blitzkrieg. Though at times you had a real bad guy and needed to go armed. And yea there are crazy killers that need a prison cell, but they also need treatment and at least offered education. Releasing prisoner at end of their term with nothing but $10 and a cheap suit, really guarantees they will return in short order. $10 buy you a Big Mac and a shake. It wont rent you a room or in any way prepare you to live an honest life.
