There is something genetic about this virus that makes some people more susceptible, and it seems to disproportionately impact Blacks. It is true in my own family. As I have mentioned multiple times, this virus has hit my family hard. Very hard. The white people who have married into the family have either not gotten it or have had it so mildly that it wasn’t even noticeable. Most, though, have been tested while there were family members living in the same house who were hospitalized, and still came up with negatives. What is more, none of their bi-racial kids have gotten it either, at least as far as we know.
I find the Asian, and genetically related Native American/Hawaiian/PI, death rate to case comparison particularly interesting. Just saying.
