The Trumpist/GOP will continue under whatever name it decides to have and will likely have a voice in local politics in some places. Sort of the heir to the local Tea Party backers. Trump is the high-water mark. Tucker is a squirrel and it is hard to pin your party's hopes on a rodent and QAnon. The story of Trump is yet to come out and no one with national political aspirations will want to be associated with him.

There is no big tent in the Republican Party -- there are a lot of little tents with circled wagons. Each one would happily cut the others' throats if it could give them total party control. If Trumpers stay in the Republican Party they will be one of the little tents and generally be hated by tbe others. QAnon devotee Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia is the face of the future Trump GOP wing -- racist and nuts.

Win or Lose Trump's new GOP is here to stay
The Republicans have been gaining votes every Presidential election since 2008. So it looks like they have a combination that appeals to greater and greater number of voters.

The Democrats have gathered fewer voters each time.

Beware of what you wish for. I got a feeling you are gonna regret letting working class voters leave the Dem party.

The GOP had redeeming qualities? WHERE!? WHAT?! They were spineless cowards when it came to dealing with Obama, fools when it came to Bush etc.

Exactly!

, not sure what your basing this on.

2018 midterms was the biggest turnout for Dems since 1974.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/06/polit...ave/index.html

From the article:

The 2018 large turnout allowed House Democrats to win about 10 million more votes than House Republicans. That's the largest raw vote margin in a House midterm election ever.
This wasn't just a blue wave in the House. It was a tsunami.

Fair enough, when the poster said “each time” , I though they meant each election cycle.

Trump is a cult of personality. Once he’s done the others will scurry to whatever ideology keeps them in power. After trump the gop is gonna splinter like a dry twig.
It’s over.
