Is anyone surprised at the drop in people willing to acknowledge they are democrats? With this loony bin bunch the representatives of the party? Good Lord, who would WANT to be known as a D? Not me. I'd change that registration ASAP!

The Democrats are just not a legitimate political party anymore.

At least not at the national level.

This is literally from the article your post cited.

Quote:
Democratic Edge in Party Affiliation Shrinks

Party affiliation is a strong predictor of people's voting preferences. Democrats' current six-point advantage in combined party identification and leaning is larger than it was in 2016, when Trump was elected, as well as in 2004 when George W. Bush was reelected with a popular vote majority. It is similar to what it was on Election Day in 2008 and 2012 when Obama won both elections.

The Democratic Party is in a more advantageous position now than in the first part of 2020, and Joe Biden continues to hold consistent leads over Trump in preelection preference polls. Trump's still-weak job approval ratings remain a significant obstacle to his own reelection prospects, and possibly for Republican candidates further down the ballot.

Your source is BS and a conspiracy theorist rag. Any news outlet that uses "CreepyJoe" as a promo code is a little suspect, don't ya think? Simply one more sad echo chamber thread.

So here is the very odd thing that has happened in the Trump era.

Democrats have lost their minds because America elected a crazy Narcissist.

Then the election season came around and somehow the democrats have created a scenario where it is the Normies against the Freaks.... and the Normies are siding with Trump as the democrats volunteer to be the freaks.

This is the beginning of the unravelling of the Democratic party, I think. And it should be.

The far left goons have taken over the Democrats, and now they bow to the ANTIFA/BLM and far left cancel culture mob in their party.

After they lose the presidential election in 2020, and almost lose the House, they'll have to regroup and figure out who the hell they are and what they stand for.

This is an exhibit for right-wing's alternative facts.

The source article is literally saying the Democrats are leading.

But it comes out of the right-wing fake news machine as the exact opposite.

Yep. At least they included the source.
https://news.gallup.com/poll/317771/...gn=syndication

"The Democratic advantage over the Republican Party, which was an unusually large 11-percentage-points in June, is now six points. Though smaller, the current gap remains larger than it was in any of the first five months of the year."

So there was a spike in June, that shrunk, but the spread is still higher than it was at the beginning of the year.

And despite the article's narrative about this being a reflection on the DNC convention...
"The August figures were collected before last week's Democratic National Convention and do not reflect the possible impact of that convention on Americans' party preferences."
