A core part of the First Amendment is that the government is not supposed to promote one religion over another, or really any religion over no religion.

‘Christianity will have power,’ Trump promised
If he were elected president, he promised, that would change. He raised a finger.
“Christianity will have power,” he said. “If I’m there, you’re going to have plenty of power, you don’t need anybody else. You’re going to have somebody representing you very, very well. Remember that.”

No. Making the promise is not a violation of The Constitution.

Keeping the promise would be in violation of the First Amendment.

No. What did he actually do to establish a religion?

The President will be a representative of Christians. Which Christians? Evangelicals, Catholics, Methodists,... ?

What about Jews, Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists,... ?

Atheists?

A leader of the people he is not.

No, it's a statement of conviction. Which is very much covered by the 1st amendment.

Oh you leftists.... Liberals love playing word games with Trump, but level-headed people understand. Trump is saying Christian-values will be represented and pushed. Like not supporting the murder of babies via abortion for starters. That is a value that even many non-Christians support.

Like Trump said, when the COVID-19 vaccine comes out, if he's the first to get it, leftists will say he is greedy....if he's not the first, they will say he's scared. Sick of the leftist donkey garbage.

I hope so. We could use more Christian values. It's weird coming from someone who doesn't practice in such values.

I think this would present more of a 14th amendment issue (specifically the equal protection under the law clause) than a 1st amendment issue if he's promising to use his office to make the government more accessible and favorable towards one religion and less so towards those who don't practice that religion.
