That captured this nonsense thread very accurately.

JFK had some pretty good advisors outside of McNamara, Trump has no one anymore.

I can't think of anyone further away from JFK than Donald Trump.

What a stretch!

The left wouldn't elect him dog catcher today and you know it. He isn't extreme enough. His "ask not what your nation can do for you, but what you can do for your nation," would have sent today's left rioting in the streets.

Be honest.

Remember Gary Hart? He didn't have 1/10th the baggage of Biden and he was stopped cold for it.

Kennedy wouldn't have stood a chance today.

I can but you would argue about it. Hillary, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, Biden.

You don't see Waters as completely different than JFK? How about my favorite. Shiela Jackson Lee? AOC?

Say what you want but the Democratic Party is 180 degrees away from the JFK days.

I didn't make the comparison and don't personally believe its completely accurate I think of Trump as more like Teddy Roosevelt and Andrew Jackson

Not a fan of any of them you've listed. Civility and class are dead.

I thought Obama was closer to JFK - he was polished and charismatic - but what a disappointment he turned out to be.

Trump is dubbed JFK's political soulmate in surprising US election analysis

--------------------------------
In short, it is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high today and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now. The experience of a number of European countries and Japan have borne this out. This country's own experience with tax reduction in 1954 has borne this out.

And the reason is that only full employment can balance the budget, and tax reduction can pave the way to that employment. The purpose of cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus.

-John F. Kennedy, Dec. 14, 1962, Speech to Economic Club of New York
--------------------------------

Bingo.

From watching, and listening to him, I think Pete Buttegieg was the closest thing to JFK.
He should have been the candidate.
Not that he would have won, but would have been a tough fight for Trump.
