It was never finger lickin' good. It has always been finger lickin' greasy though.

Clint Eastwood, the actor, would say "you can take my KFC out of my cold dead hands"

Btw, I used to work at KFC in high school about 40 years ago. I don’t know if they changed their methods, but we would take all the unsold regular chicken, re-flour and batter it the next day and sold it as extra crispy. Once that was gone, we’d make fresh batches of extra crispy.

My advice is to skip the extra crispy until later in the day. Off topic, but an added bonus for the thread. No charge.
Are you making this up? for one thing, if that chicken sits under the heater lamp, it would be prone to bacteria and salmonella being refried. Was that just your store or all over??

When i worked at a chicken place, they let us take the unsold chicken home so as not to resell it next day.

that would be awful! refried chicken. ugh.

Meh.
Mountain Dew got started with the slogan "It'll tickle your innards."

Once the brand established lost the hillbilly image and sold more soda pop as a sophisticated drink, it found a more reliable market as well.

Same goes with Kentucky Fried Chicken. First they lost the "Fried", and next they lost the "Kentucky" once KFC proved to do a better job. Along the way, ol' Colonel Sanders remained, but as a younger, handsomer, slicker version that really doesn't resemble him at all.

Because KFC needed a visual image to tie to. When "Finger lickin' good" disappears, it won't even be missed by the chicken buyers. They're already an entirely different demographic group than those who first made KFC popular.

Is it madness? Only to the geezers who still remember the old days. And they're no longer the ones who buy KFC twice a week anymore.

KFC knew the geezers were already gone. This stuff doesn't change willy-nilly. It's all planned very carefully in advance and very carefully implemented.

Are they really concerned or is this just some outreach to the Loons that are trying to shut everything down at least until after the election.

It has been many years since I have visited a Kentucky Fried Buzzards so I guess I can continue my boycott.. LOL but come on this is a bit extreme isn't it?
Feel free to lick your fingers all you want.

Covid19 hasn't changed anything in that regard.

Remind me never to eat at your house!

Not if the meat or chicken is stored properly in the interim.

I don't see the slogan being an issue. I'd hope people used common sense and didn't lick their fingers and just wiped the greasy fingers with napkin.

I miss the chicken from KFC when fresh. Popeyes took over now instead. But the sides from were terrible. lol

My grocery store has a Monday $6.99 8 piece fried and marinated grilled chicken. So I got half and half of that. Picked today sweet corn, and deli potato salad. I’d rather have that than Popeye’s.

But yeah, times they are a changing.

I thought you were going to say they dropped the word 'fried' because it alluded to prison executions, and were going to now be called Kentucky Prepared in Oil Chicken.

Finger licking good? Boy, I didn't see that coming.
