Ha! Imagine that, people not wanting to be associated with the party that approves of BLM and ANTIFA terrorists, rioting and robbing and murdering people in the cities in the name of "black lives matter".

If the gap between Democratic and Republican Party self-ID has shrunk to 5 or 6%, that’s about where it usually is. The Republican lead of 2% in January was probably an outlier, as the recent double digit D lead certainly was. It looks to me that it’s returning to historical averages.
