Nadal also withdrew from Wimbledon and Olympics.
BTW, that guy is surreal........he's won 20 slams (tied for the most ever, with Federer) despite being injured and withdrawing from slams all the time.
Nadal has won 4 US Opens (and the record is 5, held by Connors, Sampras, Federer) despite not playing in 2012, 2014 and 2020.
And he's won the Canada Open 5 times (more than anyone ever).
So it was probably a good move to skip Wimbledon/Olympics, because he'll be physically and mentally fresh when he resumes in Canada........while everyone else will be dog tired after playing the Olympics (and Nadal has already won the Gold Medal in singles and doubles anyway).
What young sensations have been burned out by the age of 18?

What narrative? I was simply giving an answer to your question.
Much of this latest generation are mentally handicapped by their own parents and by social media
We need to re-establish intellectual challenge to kids and single-winner challenges and competitions. Some bullying is necessary, as we are finding out, because you need to learn how to deal with that in life. The only ones you help by sheltering kids are the predators who will eventually exploit them
So are Venus and Serena Williams supporting the protest, too? It is very obvious that they have been victims of white racism in the sport of tennis. (sarcasm)
The OP was from last year. Why is this a big deal today?
Because she's in the news again now - bellyaching about how hard her life is.
In general I would gave sympathy for her, but not after she put America on blast - a country she has zero right to criticize as she slither back to the xenophobic and definitively NOT-DIVERSE-AT-ALL Japan.
