Since I don't live in a progressive area that allows violent mobs to ply their trade I would assume the best things to have are a loaded firearm and a cell phone to provide supporting evidence.
The most effective weapon to carry in your vehicle is a can of RAID Wasp and Hornet killer. It has a 20ft stream and will totally incapacitate an attacker who will need immediate medical attention. Truckers have been carrying it for years.
Maybe play crazy. Start twitching, make grunting sounds, make karate poses. Instill a level of unpredictability in your actions.

Yeah, I was going to suggest carrying a crucifix to hold up like they do for exorcisms. But that would just provoke attack, like a bible would.

Lysol might work. Maybe some deodorant. That will scare them. Actually a can of some type of “non-weapon” spray is a good idea. The BLM terrorists would not know what the spray is. Maybe even paint the label so its identity isn’t visible. And you can’t be charged with use of a weapon.
For the gals of the BLM/Antifa? A year's supply of Loreal or Revlon cosmetics, Pantene hair care products, Bic razors, and a Nutrisystem enrollment. All of those are probably foreign and toxic to these "ladies". Heck, just throw an Avon catalog in their faces, that'll do it.
In light of the unprovoked attacks by the Democratic Party sponsored BLM domestic terrorist organization, I thought it might be useful for us normal people to discuss ways we could defend ourselves if we are confronted by a mob trying to force us to raise a Black Power fist or some other act of aggression.
Obviously the best defense would be a firearm, but then you will likely be found guilty of attempted murder (or murder) by a jury (of BLM peers), so that’s out as a first line of defense. But if it came to life and death, a life sentence in prison is probably worth it.
The first line of defense would probably be to call 911 even though they have been directed by Democratic leaders not to take action. But it’s worth a try. I’d probably mention “assault in progress” and not mention BLM.
Then turn on the phone video camera and try to catch as many faces as possible for later assault charges.
Never retreat or give in. That will just expose weakness which they will exploit.
Don’t engage them in reasoning or any conversation. You can not reason with these people.

Once you’re touched, which qualifies as assault as defined by the left, then you can start using weapons.
Next would be a stun gun or taser, but you need a permit is some states to carry.
Next would be some type of non-lethal weapon, like a cane or walking stick. Would not initially be considered a weapon, but could be used as such. Would not be seen as provocative, because you could say you have a leg, knee, ankle injury.
Next would be a knife. Some thought is needed for knife selection. If you use a larger, combat style knife, you will likely be accused of being an aggressor by a jury (of BLM peers), so knife would have to look as non-military as possible.
Next would be the exposure of a gun in a non-threatening manner. Point the gun straight up and say “I have a gun, stand back”. You can be charged with assault for pointing a gun at a person.
Warning shots can be considered attempted murder, so they’re out of the questioned.
You should only fire if your life is in danger, but how would a jury (of BLM peers) define that? I’m guessing you would have to be thrown to the ground and/or bleeding profusely to gain any sympathy. But at that point, how effective would you be at using a gun properly?
