I wanted to address this portion of your comment in its own separate response by me.

The Democrats have been divisive at times. I believe this is true and honest. But so have the Republicans. Too say one side is not divisive and the other is, is not accurate or honest.

Also, in my opinion, this is one of the most divisive, corrosive morally deficient Presidencies of all time. President Trump has repeatedly made dark and divisive rhetoric that is unbecoming of the highest office of the United States. This dark and divisive rhetoric may energize his base but it risks (or outright) losing moderate voters like myself. This rhetoric and (silence) regarding the perceived social injustices is inflamming a situation and making things worse and perceived hurts deeper.

In respect to limiting post length, I will attempt to display just a few examples of the former in regards to this threads topic (racially inflammatory statements and glorifying violence) as a whole thread and book could be made on all of Trumps divisive, destructive and morally deficient comments and actions.

"Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!"

"When the looting starts, the shooting start", dates back to the civil rights era and is known to have been invoked by a white police chief cracking down on protests and a segregationist politician. The phrase was used both by Miami's police chief, Walter Headley, in 1967, and by presidential candidate and segregationist George Wallace the following year. Hadley used it when he addressed his department's "crackdown on ... slum hoodlums," according to a United Press International article from the time. Headley, who was chief of police in Miami for 20 years, said that law enforcement was going after “young hoodlums, from 15 to 21, who have taken advantage of the civil rights campaign. ... We don't mind being accused of police brutality."

"If they had they would have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen.."

Hunting and attack dogs where used to quell and attack black (and white) peaceful protesters during the Civil right movement. Attack dogs where used against African American's even before the civil rights movement. Pictures and articles about this can be found all over the internet and from people who where directly involved in this and are still alive to tell their story.

"very fine people on both sides"

This comment was in regards to The "Unite the Right" rally that took place Aug. 11 and 12, 2017, in Charlottesville, where white nationalists protested the city’s decision to remove a statue of Lee. Rally participants chanted anti-Semitic, Nazi-associated phrases and clashed with counter protesters.

The list can go on but for the sake of post length, I think many people on both sides, and independents in the middle like myself can agree, this president has repeatedly made divisive statements regarding the current social unrest.

How can you live in Texas and be so misinformed (assuming you live here due to your screen name). Democrats run Dallas and Dallas County, it's headed to the crapper.

you need to stop, because now you're contradicting the opposing narrative of the narrative that it's Dem cities.

3 simple questions for txbulls etal:

When were these riots you speak of?
What was the reaction of local officials at the time?
What unrest has happened since?

Here are some Republican led cities that have seen violent protests

San Diego La Mesa

Jacksonville, FL

Oklahoma City

Ft Worth, Tx

This social unrest and rioting is happening in both Democratic AND republican led cities. This is not a "liberals are for lawlessness and its only happening in cities run by them" thing.

The rioting / looting should absolutely be dealt with and punishment should ensue when it occurs.

However, violent protesting is happening from a very small percentage of people when we look at the total numbers of people who have actually protested since this all started earlier this year. While the media generally has not reported on it, the majority have peacefully protested, not just here but around the world. People who are protesting come from all political affiliations, walks of life and from different government types around the world. This very divisive administration and right leaning News media outlets would have some believe otherwise. Thoroughly look into this matter for yourselves.

Please do not lump peaceful protesters and rioters/looters together and label all protesters as "thugs", "criminals", "liberals" and "violent". Please do not take away and silence the message of those who are peacefully protesting by stereotyping them with those who choose to break the law. Stereotyping is the very issue that millions of people are protesting against.

All of your links are three months old. Thread fail.

A surprisingly refreshing article from Fox News regarding some of what was stated in this thread:

DFW is not conservative.
San Diego is not conservative.

"Led" is irrelevant when other powers restrict the options available in regard to stopping riots of the Left.

Unless the Left who is critiquing conservative leadership, in regard to allowing riots, is open to stopping them by any means necessary.

But they aren't.

On all fronts, these riots are of the Left.

The current attempted narrative that they aren't is laughably desperate, on par with...ubba...duh...itz ze Proud Boys!

Is President Trump Correct In Saying Democrat Mayors Run The Most Violent Cities?

https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2020/...cratic-mayors/

- Start article excerpts:

"Since June 23, the president has repeatedly linked violence to cities run by Democrats."

"there’s no evidence that a specific political party is related to crime."

"By a 31-point margin, Democratic voters tend to live in larger urban areas, according to Pew Research, including young people and voters of color."

"Republicans by a 16-point margin tend to settle in smaller, more white, more rural communities."

"violent crime is actually going down in American cities, according to the FBI’s semi-annual uniform crime report"

"There are new studies that do show a surge in national violence in the last week of May and the first week of June, when protests erupted after George Floyd died in Minneapolis. But after that week, crime abruptly dropped across the country."

"The president appears to be sending a message to white voters in suburbs. But the FBI says it’s wrong to line urban crime rates and political parties, calling it misleading, flawed and incomplete."

"Taking out the politics of a presidential election year, there’s no evidence that big city crime is because of Democratic mayors."

- end article excerpts

Nice try to deflect blame from the Democrats, but they own this. Crime of all kinds happens in every city, but only one party is on the BLM/defund the police bandwagon.

The Democrats know that they need to increase black voter turnout to above 2016 levels or Trump will be reelected.
They have chosen to take the gamble that the tacit endorsement of rioting and explicit demonizing of the police will win the hearts of black voters.

That's a pretty cynical and racist strategy and could turn off more black voters than it attracts.

A change in DC may be needed, but this can never be allowed to be the way to do it, and the abandonment of law and order is not a change for the better.

Democrats do not own crime. Republicans do not own crime. Crime is a non partisan thing and occurs in every district in every town, city and state and led by every political affiliation which is contrary to what the President is spouting. More crime happens in cities because there is more people. More people = more crime. Crime has actually been decreasing in big cities prior to major inflammatory events. Leaders of big cities tend to be democrat. These are some of the major points of this thread.

The false rhetoric is that crime is only (or mostly) in Democratic run cities. This is just simply untrue. Please see post previous to yours (and also the FBI's own reports directly).

People of all political affiliations are protesting. Peaceful protesting is a constitutional right. Rioting and criminal behavior is not. Its illegal. Rioters and criminals in all cities (democrat led and republican led) are arrested. For anyone to say that criminals committing crimes is permissible and allowed without any repercussions in any city because of political affiliation (or for any other reason) is just an outright lie, regardless of what any person from any political affiliation says.

Protesting regarding George Floyd's death happened in all 50 states, with the overwhelming majority of people peacefully (and legally) doing it. A sizable portion of these states had cities with some form of violence and rioting regardless of if it was Republican led or Democrat led. Since then the violence from the George Floyd death has subsided and been dealt with in states of all political affiliation (Democrat and Republican). Since then, states and cities of all political affiliation have arrested criminals. No city or state, regardless of political affiliation has just let criminals run rampant. Criminals breaking federal and state laws have been arrested. It is only after a new inflammatory incident did a fresh round of rioting start from some people in some cities. Those criminals (not peaceful protesters) in cities of ALL political affiliations will eventually be arrested and dealt with.

The outright lieing and mistruths by the President and his administration needs to stop. Its divisive. Its misleading. Its damaging. It is unbecoming of the highest office of the United States.

No, this is a lie. Please do some homework about the "Social Justice DAs" now in office in many cities including NYC, SF, Phila, Boston, Seattle, Portland etc.

Read up on "restorative justice", the new no bail law in NY and decriminalization of theft under $900.00 in California.

I live in Seattle and our liberal city and county DAs have publicly stated they will not prosecute "minor crimes". This has led to a de facto legalization of shoplifting that has been well documented in our local news media.

From a very liberal source:
