I am shocked that anyone is shocked that it's all about the money.

"For the 2018-19 season, the average NBA salary is $6,388,007, per Basketball-Reference. Like most pro sports leagues, the NBA features a wide range of salaries."

https://heavy.com/sports/2019/05/nba...20Hoops%20Hype.

For the 2018-19 season, 11 NBA players had a salary of at least $30 million. Along with Curry, the following list of players were part of the $30 million club: Chris Paul ($35.6 million), Russell Westbrook ($35.6 million), LeBron James ($35.6 million), Blake Griffin ($32 million), Gordon Hayward ($31.2 million), Kyle Lowry ($31.2 million), Paul George ($30.6 million), Mike Conley ($30.5 million), James Harden ($30.4 million) and Kevin Durant ($30 million).

Any outrage at these salaries?

If you can do what they can do, then you'd get paid like that too.

Aww man are you serious? I was hoping they were cancelled. I'm tired of the awkward sports small talk all the time. As someone who doesn't watch sports, I have had to endure this over the years.

I agree. And the same goes for corporate executives. They are paid for what they can do. They also earn their money.

People make the same argument for Jeff Bezos. It is all about what this economic system values.

I've been outraged by professional sports salaries for decades and my reaction to that was to finallly cancel cable TV a few years ago. TV contracts are the main source for the vast majority of the money for these outrageous salaries. Do not buy from any companies that sell sports programming if these salaries are unacceptable.

Jeff Bezos's wealth comes from his stock holdings in Amazon. His salary is about $82,000, about half of what a US congressional representative makes. He owns about 16-17% of the outstanding Amazon shares. If the shares sank or Amazon went bankrupt, woooosh goes his wealth. He, like many others, started his company Amazon in his garage and built his wealth by developing a company that heretofore had not existed.

If the NBA players really want to make a difference why don't they get up off their knees and donate some of their millions to the inner cities that could certainly use it in the schools. How about setting up an after school program of shooting hoops and learning life lessons such as respecting others and their property and above all DO NOT fight the Police.

The NBA players could learn a life lesson too. If someone is willing to pay you big money to play a game, you do not bite the hand that feeds you.

How about BLM? How much money have they donated to black children?
