The much bigger question in my mind: Why was Kyle Rittenhouse the only person arrested, jailed and charged?? A bunch of nihilistic a-holes showed up to Kenosha to burn, smash and destroy. One day prior, the terrorist mobs whacked an old man over the head and left him bleeding on the concrete. No arrests for that one. Lots full of cars burned. All as some weird sort of punishment for one cop shooting a complete prick named Jacob Blake who walked right through that restraining order for rape, went in there with a knife and was trying to flee -- I think kidnapping the kids in the process. Did we mention that there was a warrant for Blake's arrest for rape? What a guy!!
Such a hero and a martyr, that Jacob Blake guy, so naturally the BLM inspired hate-mobs descended upon Kenosha to punish the entire town for the actions of one police officer. It's just how these things go. And not one of those nihilistic pricks got arrested for burning, looting, assaulting, and raising hell all over Kenosha. Grosskreutz wasn't arrested for attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. None of the Antifa/BLM nutjobs were arrested for arson they did commit and none were arrested for pushing a flaming dumpster towards a gas station. The only people that get arrested are locals tried to clean up and protect their town because the police refused to and the governor was unwilling to send in National Guard to put down rioting mobs because those rioting mobs were Lefties. And by the way, yes Antioch is just as local to Kenosha as Jersey City, NJ is to New York City. If you haven't looked it up on a map by now, you're being intentionally ignorant of the facts.
If the justice system in our country is only willing to punish criminals on one side of the political divide then we might as well kiss the USA goodbye because there's no hope for such a nation to survive.

Sure a capitol security guard doing his job is a great comparison. You seem to think that the DA was over the top in his indictment, maybe you can provide an example where 3 people were shot, two killed and there was no indictment, there must be many great examples.

Hundreds of protestors and rioters were arrested, you are mistaken. Jacob Blake was not a hero but he was a symbol of the mistakes made by police officers when it comes to blacks.
No one agrees with the rioters causing property damage but a large majority of the protests were peaceful, as usual a trouble makes many from outside the area were responsible for the damage. I wish they could have arrested more but LE has there hands full handling these situations.
IMHO Rittenhouse willingly went into a volatile situation, armed with a long gun, looking for any excuse to pull the trigger.
He wanted to shoot someone and did.
As far as I am concerned, he can spend the rest of his life in prison for premeditated murder.
