The only reason the riots are out of control is because Democrat elected officials have chosen to encourage & facilitate the carnage. In all these cities with 3+ months of unending rioting, Democrat officials have ordered local law enforcement to stand down & not take any action to restore order (not even being allowed to use non-lethal riot control measures). This leaves local cops with the option of either (1) doing nothing or (2) trying to restore order at the risk of their own lives/careers (should one of the violent rioters get hurt in the process). Consequently the rioters continue running rampant, destroying private property and leaving business owners & property owners with the choice of losing everything to the anarchists, or defending themselves & having the legal book thrown at them.
Federal agents could easily restore order using the tactics that have ALWAYS been used to disperse rioters: tear gas & rubber bullets; arresting those who violently engage the police; prosecuting rioters, looters & arsonists to the full extent of the law. In addition, use of federal resources to track the funding, transportation & lodging of rioters would help greatly in breaking up the groups who are organizing this Coup, for while the idiots LARPing in the streets are clueless morons, those manipulating them in order to grab political power are very dangerous indeed.

No this is not easy, riots of this magnitude are extremely difficult and can easily escape by use of force, there is no magic bullet. There are plenty of large riots in our history and they were never easily resolved.

Portland and Seattle have always been hot beds for fringe groups, this is the perfect storm with the virus, people out of work and black killings. Many outside of these radical groups would react.
