Trump has attacked the military many times, and the latest about there not being any consequences for the Russian bounties has probably helped turn the tide against him even more. These men and women deserve better than Trump.
Actually as a widow of one of the 22 that was killed last year, this is incorrect. It has been verified as false. That is even with friends with their ears open to see if there was truth to it. The NY Times broke the article and even had the audacity to reach out to a fellow widow to comment on it. The NY times is super dirty when it comes to chasing down a story and publishing lies.
More BS. Just like the bias Syracuse poll. The trash is running dem run cities. Nobody likes Biden. That includes you. And nobody likes looting, burning, rioting, and murder. That also includes you.
You have a chance to get it right on Nov 3.
No poll that appears in Realclearpolitics.com which contains all major presidential polls has indicated Trump was leading in the popular vote column since early March and that was one poll. I invite you to look it up.
Since that time dozens have all confirmed the same result. Trump is significantly behind Biden. Its not a question of averages. Its not a question of cherry picking to get a result. They all say the same thing and they all say its worse for Trump than in 2016.
As for the burning and looting, Donald Trump has been leader of this country for four years. This problem was not occurring when Obama was President. Its something new. There is a saying that "the man at the top sets the tone". Trump has set a terrible tone. We are seeing the fruits of that now
Add these facts to reasons why the military is souring on Trump.
1. Trump is a draft dodger.
3. He attacked John McCain who is well respected by the military.
4. He attacked General Mattis who is truly loved by the troops.
5. He pulled out of Syria with no warning at all. Many of the troops saw this as a betrayal of and ally.
6. He diverted money from the military to help pay for his wall.
7. He used soldiers to clear out civilians to take a photo op.
8. He did not question Putin about bounties being put on soldiers head.
9. He block a promotion from a soldier because he had a personal vendetta against him.
The soldiers took a oath to the constitution not Donald Trump. We will see how this works out in Nov.
I have many friends who are and just retired from active duty.

Diverting money...it was money that had no place to go.
He used federal officers (CIA, FBI etc) to protect federal buildings- a close friend of mine was on the ground and witnessed it himself because he was hired as security by another place.
Bounties- false NY Times desperation of a story- I know for a fact this has been confirmed as false.
As for promotion for a soldier....the POTUS has NO way to keep someone from promoting or to help someone promote within the military. At that point in their career, a board decides if they get promoted.

Are you suggesting that there have been consequences?
If so, Trump really should start broadcasting that, as his perceived lack of concern or action is definitely costing him support.
In any event:

Since Barack Obama has been in the White House, high ranking military officers have been removed from their positions at a rate that is absolutely unprecedented.Things have gotten so bad that a number of retired generals are publicly speaking out about the 'purg' of the U.S. military that they believe is taking place
