The correct thread title should be, " businesses can't rebuild because the insurance they bought does not cover rioting"

Like hearing someone buying only liability coverage on their car and then complaining that insurance won't cover their car when it got flooded etc. No, you didn't buy that coverage...stop making excuses to try to garner sympathy.

Insurance is the only way to get moneys paid in a reasonable amount and time to get the business back up and running.

Well they will be begging Trump for money of course. Personally, I think all the Democrats should rebuild it themselves. You know have that dumb mayor kick in and his cronies.

They get what they deserve!

The rioters in general have no real assets to go after.

The state could vindictively retaliate via regulatory action as well as a public smear campaign (Florida has done this).

So, the insurance companies will pay what they owe according to the purchased coverage and not what the people now wish they had bought....and will subsequently raise rates or stop providing that coverage in that area etc.

Riot and civil commotion along with fire are all covered causes of loss under basic commercial property insurance policies. If insurance does not pay out due to damage caused by rioting then that typically means the insured didn't purchase property insurance at all.

That's kind of where I'm at, too. It's unfortunate, but (as with most things) you're getting what you paid for.

All those jobs are gone and they’re not coming back. Nobody’s going to wave a magic wand and bring back what was destroyed by these lawless rioters.

Why would anybody want to stay there if they can afford to move? And what happens to the people who can’t afford to move?

Minneapolis is controlled, at every level, by Democrats. If you think that’s just a coincidence, you just keep on thinking that. And go ahead and blame the insurance companies, instead of the rioters who actually destroyed those businesses."
Controlled for 40 years, yet the people rioting hated the policies and leadership they themselves voted in for 40 years.

Then they turn around and blame Trump, lol.

And these Democrats who hate Democratic policies, go on and destroy the place they live. That is like destroying your house because you hate your neighbor.

I would be interested to know how many if any of those business owners are registered democrats and if they've had a political change of heart after seeing their democrat leadership sit back and watch the destruction?

I can tell you my own story, and that is I worked for Saxon Paint in the Chicago area back in the '60's. A chain of dozens of smaller stores. I didn't know until many years later when the owner died, that he was a liberal activist. He specifically went into run down Black neighborhoods, met with the locals and bought up properties to improve. And used locals to help do that and staff the stores. We had riots now and again around various stores, and for the most part his stores did not get hit. And there were times when the locals defended them.

Minneapolis has a police force of under 900 officers, for a city of 384,000. you think somehow a republican would have prevented someone from setting fire to a building? Comical.
