BLM's stated goal is pretty obvious- to stop disproportionate police violence against black citizens.
Except that it’s all based on a lie. There ISN’T disproportionate police violence against blacks.
Reminds me of an article in the liberal newspaper where I live, with the headline screaming how half of all police encounters in which the police “get physical” are with blacks - and then it went in to say that only 10% of the residents here are black, so that this was way out of proportion. The article further stated that this “proved” how racist cops are.
What the liberal reporter failed to acknowledge is that half of all violent offenders are black, and thus the stats are right in line.
That opinion is irrelevant within the context of this thread, however.
I was responding to the poster who said that BLM’s goal was to fight against the disproportionate violence against blacks by cops. So you were fine when the liberal poster gave his opinion, but when I refuted it, it’s irrelevant?
That’s a subtle form of silencing by the way. Allow the opinion you agree with to pass without comment, and say the comment you disagree with is irrelevant.

#1 - That's not an opinion - it's plainly stated on the BLM website. And it's relevant to the topic of this thread.
#2 - Whether or not that perception is accurate is arguable, but irrelevant to the question in the OP - namely, how come BLM isn't protesting/demonstrating over the tragic death of this officer.

I don't agree with their mantra too much but why do you think that you "gotcha" BLM when their mission was obvious from the start, like it takes less than 10 seconds to use google.
Even if they were anti-criminal what do you want them to do, protests at the criminal department that the card-carrying members of said organization have been shooting too many black people????
Their isn't an institutional issue that stops black criminals from being arrested, condemning criminals in the American context is akin to condemning North Korea for human rights violations. Cool, I guess i'm sure they'll stop because you told them killing their own citizens is bad.
BLMs goal is pretty simple-to loot, to destroy, to threaten, intimidate and kill. They are a vicious mob looking for an excuse to exercise extreme violence. I used to call them a racist hate group, but frankly, the rioting fools seem to be predominately white. Most black people seem to be walking away from these losers as time goes on and they realize they do not have the interests of black people in mind. Sure, you still have some of the more ignorant and racist blacks involved whining about reparations, but decent, working blacks seem to be distancing themselves.
AND it wasn't a death at the hands of/in the custody of LEOs.
I don't know why some people continue with this nonsense. It's like saying "How come Susan G Komen isn't fighting against testicular cancer?" - because that's not what the group was founded around. Duh.
It's really not clever.
Then why does BLM lie? Instead of saying "black lives matter" why don't they change their name to "only black criminals matter"? They have no interest in the lives of law abiding black people. End result though, it's still a lie. BLM is an excuse to unleash violence and looting, no more.

BLM began after Treyvon Martin was killed by Zimmerman, not a cop. Its mission and goals encompass much more than police brutality, as you'd know by looking at their website. I don't see any particular reason for BLM to be involved in this particular murder. In fact, one less cop to the hard-core BLM'ers might be cause for celebration.
