I know it's a cartoon tried to find something which was easy to understand.
So now you are conflating racism with systemic racism. No one denies the existence of racism.

Here is what you bolded:

"Genius liberals claim that Grand Haven outperforms Flint and Detroit, because Flint and Detroit have underfunded schools and ignore the lack of together two parent families and personal choices of students."

Can you use words to illustrate how.

Liberals like Kell490 and her video lie about black schools being underfunded and then use that to explain the myth of "systemic racism" which means the system of American society sets up racism against blacks.

As I have already proven, majority black schools get more funding than majority white schools and it isn't close. Flint gets nearly twice as much money per pupil as Grand Haven. Flint gets more money per pupil than any national per pupil average. Yet Flint gets horrible academic results and Grand Haven gets good academic results with half the money per pupil.

It can't be blamed on funding like liberals so often lie.

So why are blacks underperforming academically. It isn't school funding. In fact blacks underperform whites within the same school. Also, in fact rich blacks perform negligibly better than poor whites academically.

So the most obvious answer to the racial disparity in academic performance is cultural. Blacks have significantly higher single parent homes and studies show that single parent homes produce worse outcomes across the board including academically. Also culturally, what is valued by different groups? Blacks of all groups spend the least time doing home work.

Also more black single parent homes is not a sign of systemic racism unless blacks have more racism in 2020 than in 1920. Because in 1920 blacks didn't have the most single parent homes.

Exactly. Very economical way to say it also.

I don't have a problem with it being a cartoon, just some of the content.

Racism - by all colors - has always existed and will always exist. Thankfully, the numbers seem to generally decrease over time (activity of the last 90 days notwitshtanding).

There is no systemic racism currently, therefore there's nothing to be done about current systemic racism.

There are SOME school districts which are either highly-wealthy or highly-poor. My school district, and all but 2 statewide, are county-wide thus the wealthy v poor school doesn't exist. Those who ATTEND certain schools may be wealthier or poorer. This then brings us to the funding issue, which has been pointed out already.

We can certainly debate the past harm of redlining, and what effect it has carried over to today. However, the cartoon does get parts of this wrong too. That's OK, but just know it's wrong. So perhaps whatever "reparations" is should focus on the disadvantages and where they occurred (it wasn't everywhere in the US), and what we can do to ameliorate them.

This video is so stupid and filled with subjective statements presented as fact, devoid of critical thinking or data.

Re: bold: where did redlining not occur?

Quote:
The term "redlining" ... comes from the development by the New Deal, by the federal government of maps of every metropolitan area in the country. And those maps were color-coded by first the Home Owners Loan Corp. and then the Federal Housing Administration and then adopted by the Veterans Administration, and these color codes were designed to indicate where it was safe to insure mortgages. And anywhere where African-Americans lived, anywhere where African-Americans lived nearby were colored red to indicate to appraisers that these neighborhoods were too risky to insure mortgages.

not all loans were federally-guaranteed. blacks could buy and get mortgages in existing neighborhoods.

Was it "fair"? No, that's why I specifically mentioned redlining as something that DID have a real effect. It was extremely pervasive but not universal.

since it WAS a clear policy of the Federal government, even after 1865, that's why we should now overcome it.

So many things wrong with the video:
  • Not all white people are rich and not all black people are poor. There are more poor whites than poor blacks in America.
  • Black inner-city schools routinely siphon money away from the suburbs and wealthier areas, and are generally the best funded schools around. They can certainly afford all the nice things, but they're too busy dealing with things like murder, rape, gang fights, drug use, drug dealers, etc.
  • Suburb schools are freqently crowded. Depends on the suburb.
  • The way that my grandparents lived does not dictate how I live today.
  • As usual, there is an overwhelming need to go back in time and whine about the bad old days, when the bad thing from the past doesn't exist today.
  • The biggest obstacles to black home ownership is the people themselves. Credit score. Income. The usual things. Any black person with good credit and a good income can buy a house just as easily as any white, Asian or Hispanic person.
  • All of the systemic cheating right now is in favor of blacks and other minorities, but against whites, Jews and Asians.
  • Right now, companies are falling all over themselves looking for competent and qualified blacks because they want to virtue signal to the world how diverse and enlightened they are. The hiring prejudice is almost entirely pro-black and anti-white today.
  • Most likely, the biggest reason that the black unemployment rate is so high is the fact that so many black kids don't even graduate from High School, much less go to college. Businesses do want to hire them, but they need them to be competent and qualified.
  • America today is built from the ground up to cheat, boost up and give unfair advantages to blacks more than any other group.
  • The words "Systemic Racism" specifically mean that one or more systems exist that are racist. That means actual people and actual entities are racist and actively trying to hold black people down. But the video comes right out and says that there are no individuals nor entities responsible, which undermines everything they're claiming.

None of the things they propose will actually solve anything. Here's what will actually work. Challenge every child in America, but specifically black children to:
  1. Graduate from High School.
  2. Never engage in criminal activity.
  3. Don't get pregnant or have children until you're at least 20 -- so to be safe just don't have sex.
  4. After you turn 20, plan on getting married and only having children after that.
  5. Get a full time job.
  6. Keep clear of drugs, crime and other negative influences.
Study after study has found that if you can do those things you will move out of poverty and into the middle class.

I live in a blue state. As blue as they come. I listened to local school board meetings and state school board meetings. They spend the majority fo their time talking about 'disadvantaged kids...POC, etc'. The whole system is designed to get more money pumped into programs that can be distributed to the right players. That's why the worst school districts (CPS, etc) spend more per pupil than other districts and have worse outcomes. They also almost universally get free and reduced everything. And the teacher's unions are demanding MORE money. Wake up. You are being played.
